Positives
- You Feel The Minor Spoon Nose Only In Pow
- Fun Centered Feel When Turning
- Pretty Good Float
- Very Good Pop
Negatives
- Hard to turn in uneven snow for size 10 and under boots
Summary
The Nitro Quiver Dinghy is a pretty wide centered ride and doesn't have that set back feel many of it's peers do so it's somewhat unique for a board of this type that some might really like.Where To Buy

An Honest In Depth Breakdown Of How The Nitro Quiver Dinghy Rides Review by The Good Ride

How The Nitro Quiver Dinghy Was Tested:

I borrowed the for an extended demo and sent it back. 1-day demo. A few laps at a demo. I liked it so much I asked to keep it (only do this with favorites). I liked it so much we bought it. Precious Good Ride dollars were spent buying and reviewing this.

Approximate Weight
The Nitro Quiver Dinghy feels pretty normal for this ammount of surface area in this size. (We don’t put in the exact weight because with wood cores, there is no consistency in a board’s weight)
Sizing

There are only 2 sizes with the Nitro Quiver Dinghy. 155 and 160 and both have the same width Nose/Waist/Tail
The Nitro Dinghy 160 definitely felt really wide, especially in uneven snow for my size 9 boots but it was pretty fun to turn in good snow. I’d like to try the 155 and even though it’s very similar in width the shorter length might be easier to handle mid to the end of the day. If you are a 10-12 it might be much more managable at my weight. That being said the 160 would be way more fun when its super deep.
Shape

The Nitro Quiver Dinghy is tapered and directional, but not very tapered and not as directional as you would think. You ride this more centered than it looks and in comparison to the Slash it felt much more centered on board.
Camber Profile

The Nitro Quiver Dinghy has full camber from tip to tail and then a very minor spoon to the nose after the camber. You only feel it in pow or very soft snow.
It tracks very well but it’s more for advanced to expert riders as this pretty much full camber ride is technical/catchy and not easy to skid a turn.
This wide feel for size 9 boots makes it feel even more technical harder to skid turns but if you are In between 10-12 it will be easier to handle.
Flex Personality

Now let’s talk flex here.
The Nitro Quiver Dinghy has a medium to medium stiff flex with a rubbery easy flex to it that snaps back really hard.

It really pops well on an ollie and springs off a jump very well.

The Nitro Quiver Dinghy was a good bit of work to butter in the tail and not too much easier to butter in the nose.
Uneven Snow

Turning in bumps and messy snow was hard for my size 9’s with this width and that part was challenging but the Quiver Dinghy didn’t buck and bounce around that much for a poppy full camber flex.
This handled microbumpy moderatly hard unevern snow really well.
Base Glide

When it comes to base glide, I thought Nitro Quiver Dinghy wasn’t exceptional, but far from being terrible.
Speed
And this quiver dinghy did really well at speed for this kind of ridde. The sidecut has a mellower entry so it allowed it to track well if you want to point it and it’s pretty damp but not exceptionally damp. So pretty good for an ocassional sustained straight line but if you ride this with a bigger boot size than mine it won’t be as competent with more leverage near the edges.
Edge Hold
The Nitro Nitro Quiver Dinghy was not exceptional, but definitely could keep its edge in harder snow. It doesn’t grab it all in soft snow either.
Turning

Now, when it comes to turn initiation, this was super slow for me. I would call this medium slow to slow but In powder it was medium slow.
When I got the Nitro Quiver Dinghy I was surprised that I could engage the side cut and feel it being so far away from the edge with my size nine boots,
so I think that’s why they do say experienced riders as well as wide foot riders.
I had a really fun time carving groomers and the turning experience does get a little more turny if you back foot weight your turns. it has more of an easy entry point, so it starts out that way. Front foot weighted turns are more down the line and Center weighted turns are a little more balanced. There is very good spring out of the turn and it was pretty fun/easy to throw around switch.
Powder

The Nitro Quiver Dinghy is not bad in powder if you like a more centered feel. I prefer a more set back, surfy feel and this doesn’t have that feel so not personally my type but could be yours. Especially if you like a more full camber/centered feel.

With the dinghy you can get -4.25in back from center of board with a 22 inch stance width which isn’t a lot for this type of shape and you really don’t feel as far back on board as the specs would say.
Final Thoughts on the Nitro Quiver Dinghy
So overall, the quiver dinghy was very unique. It’s not totally my style in powder, but if you like to ride centered, throw it around, have more of a big aggressive mountain freestyle feel in a tapered directional shape. This dinghy could be great for you.
