Skyline Fuse Light 3L Jacket Written Review Review by The Good Ride
Skyline Fuse Light 3L Jacket Review: How It Fits And Who It Is For

How This Review Happened: This was sent to me for an extensive test, and unlike hard goods, most outerwear brands don’t want the jacket back for many reasons.

Fit

The Skyline Fuse Light 3L Jacket doesn’t have that typical ultra-techy tight fit and instead has more of a medium fit bordering on a semi-baggy fit with room for lots of layers and a more snowboard-friendly look.

Construction

Skyline has very exceptional construction. It matches the price point.
Waterproofing/Breathability/Windproofing

I’ve tested this extensively in everything from dryish snow, wet snow, really wet snow, rain, freezing fog, and heavy wind. Usually, super light jackets like this don’t block the wind well, and while this wasn’t as good as the Fuse, it did incredibly well for what it is. The same goes for waterproofing. You can rain ride with this, but it doesn’t rain like the regular Fuse jacket. The breathability was exceptional, though, and I felt like it was much higher than the
Hood/Helmet Compatibility
I love this larger contoured hood, and the size Large will handle a Large or even XL helmet well. It seals you off from the wind, and I am all about a contoured hood.
Cuff/Glove Compatibility

The cuff design is unique, and the designer/founder of Skyline always hated getting snow stuck to the velcro and, therefore, allowing it to soak into the jacket. I wasn’t 100% on board with this when I first tried the regular Fuse Jacket, but after about 3-4 days of using the jacket, I started to prefer this more. I did notice that my cuffs didn’t get as wet as cuffs with velcro. Overall, it’s not perfect, and sometimes the cuff sags down and gets in my way when I’m not snowboarding and tinkering with something in the parking lot, but I do like them.
Pit Zips
These pit zips are not oversized and are made to be backpack-compatible. They zip from below the pit. They don’t put out as much venting as a full zip but luckily the jacket feels so light and breathable that it didn’t matter to me.
Pockets
The pocket system is made for split boarding, and it’s super functional, but it doesn’t feel lacking riding the lifts as well. You have 4 huge outer pockets, and a small media pocket inside. There is more than enough room for skins, and all you need to go split boarding. With the two big outer pockets, they are high enough to rest my hands in them.

It’s also backpack-compatible.
Conclusion
Skyline is doing cool things regarding jacket design for snowboarders, and it’s a brand I love to review and support. I would pay to wear these jackets if I weren’t doing snowboard reviews. I started testing with the Skyline Fuse Light 3L Jacket in spring, and when I was done, I didn’t stop wearing it. The way it adapted to warm and cold weather makes it an excellent split board and a great resort jacket for active riders.
