Summary
The Nitro Nitro Team Pro has been a favorite for a long time, and the 2024 model is no exception. It’s got an asymmetrical ankle strap you can flip to get more or less response, has a good feel underfoot and is a binding that works with a wide variety of boots and boards.Where To Buy

Nitro Nitro Team Pro Written Review Review by The Good Ride
Welcome to the Nitro Nitro Team Pro Snowboard Binding Review from an average rider with extensive gear knowledge.
A Breakdown of how it rides and who it is for
How This Review Happened: I borrowed this for an extended demo and sent it back.

Days: 5+
Conditions: A wide variety of spring conditions.

Insoles: F.I.T. Gamechangers
Redundancy: Strapins in case boots or bindings break.

Helmet: Smith Maze
Goggle: Smith 4D Mag
Gloves: Burton AK Clutch Mitt, Burton AK Tech Leather Glove, Drop Tahoma Mitt,

Similar (but not the same) Bindings: Union Atlas, Union Force, Union Falcor, Salomon Highlander, Now Drive, Rome Katana
How It Was Tested
I rode these several days in a lot of different conditions and then put them in a sampler to truly see how they compare against similar bindings.
Weight
2.0lbs
Highback Flex
The Nitro Team Pro has a moderately easy twist and a little give when pulling straight back. It’s got a lot of padding as well to minimize calf bite and integrate easily with your boots. It’s pretty medium, bordering on medium/stiff.
Flex Underfoot
There is good but not a full-on super flexy happening underfoot compared to many mini-discs out there. It’s not dead, though. That hard plastic does stiffen it up a little bit.
Turn Initiation/Response
The Nitro Team Pro is pretty responsive if you flip the ankle straps around. When you do, it’s almost there with the Phantom and can power most boards out there. If you flip it the other way it’s a more mellow mtn freestyle to park kind of binding. I love the duality.
Shock Absorption
You have those airbags, and they make for great shock absorption. You can land flat, and it’s not going to suck as much as it can.
Dampness
The Nitro Team Pro has a semi-soft plastic that isn’t as damp as the Phantom or Phantom +, but it does well enough to absorb chatter on uneven days.
Boot Support
When you flip/switch the ankle straps to the more supportive side, there is really great boot support that is great when you are off-piste. When you flip it back, you have much more freedom of movement/tweakability for park/mtn freestyle riding. It’s very supportive. It was wider and more supportive than the Team’s ankle strap, and I liked it much better.
Toe straps grip well to the boot.
Ratchets
Nothing to complain about these ratchets.
Adjustability
I love brands like Nitro that care about boot-to-binding adjustability. Being able to slide in/out the gas pedal and Heel Loop makes sure your boot will be centered. If you are centered in the binding, you can turn the disc sideways and slide from tip to tail to get your proper stance width. I can’t tell you how many people didn’t like their bindings until they were adjusted properly to match their boot’s footprint, so don’t discount this advantage Nitro gives you.
Mini Discs don’t work with setback inserts (40mm vs. 20mm) for pow days. That is the one drawback of the Nitro Team Pro’s. I can’t recommend them to riders that have setback inserts, and many brands have them these days.
Everything else is pretty much toolless and very easy to adjust on snow.
Conclusion
So, the Nitro Team Pro was great a few years back when we tried it and it still is in 2024. The Asymmetrical ankle strap that offers two types of response is a really cool feature, and this is a very recommendable binding. I’d pick this over the Phantom and Team for sure.

Nitro Team Pro Past Reviews
The Nitro Team Pro Snowboard Binding did a lot for us and matched up well with all the boards we tested it with. It’s a very adjustable and well thought out binding that we have no problem recommending.
Ethics Statement: We don’t get paid by the manufacturer to write these reviews. We do make money from the “Where To Buy” links, but this is our best attempt at an honest and objective review from an average riders’ perspective.
How This Review Happened: We borrowed this for an extended demo and then returned it. We borrowed this for a day and then returned it. We had a couple of laps at a frantic manic demo day. We liked it so much we asked to keep it (we only do this with our favorites). After a demo, we liked it so much we bought it. We spent our precious Good Ride dollars to buy this and review it.
Days: 4+
Riders: James (Size 9, 5’10” 185-195lbs), Nick (Size 10, 160lbs, 5’8”)
Boots: Adidas Tactical ADV, Burton Imperial, Nitro Team TLS
Insoles: Sandsole Custom Insoles, Footprint Insole Technology Gameghangers Low Profile
Boards: Yes Greats, Nitro Quiver Fury, Nitro Team
Highback Flex: There is a good twist with the Nitro Team Pro’s High back but lots of good stiffness pulling it back.
Binding to Boot Adjustability
You can tweak just about anything on the Nitro Team Pro to dial it out to your boot. The straps are easy to adjust and durable with the steel cables. You can rotate the high back and adjust the forward lean well too. However, the most important part about this binding is its ability to center most boots in the suggested size range in the binding. That means you are able to turn the board better but also still be able to turn the discs sideways so you can slide them tip to tail. There is an adjustable gas pedal/toe ramp as well as an adjustable heel loop which is a step up above many bindings out there.
Stance Width Adjustability
Pretty good, and the channel in the mini-disc can slide both ways a little bit. We can always get our stance or get very close to it with mini-discs and the only issue is they don’t work with a lot of set back/extra inserts for powder days that are approx 40mm apart instead of 20mm and are only compatible with full-sized discs.
Comfort
Very comfortable binding. No pressure points for us to speak of from the ankle strap or any part of the binding.
Boot Support
The toe strap has a lot of grip and pulls you into the heel cup well. The ankle strap finishes up the job and it has more support (especially on the sides) compared to the Team but still has enough freedom of movement for those that want more of a freestyle to mountain freestyle feel. It’s a great balance between support when you need it and freedom of movement when you want it, and our ankles never felt exposed in uneven terrain.
Turn Initiation/Response
Way more response than we thought it would have, and it’s a little bump ahead of the team. You can pair this up with a lot of demanding boards and it will turn them but also pair them up with mellow easy turning boards and it won’t overpower them.
Buttering
There is really good butterability with the Nitro Team Pro, and the boards we rode it with flexed pretty well underfoot. Well, other than the Team Camber but that wasn’t an easy board to butter. T
Ratchet System
They didn’t bring any attention to it either way, and they always worked.
Shock Absorption
The airbags with that little spring-like thing inside do a good job at absorbing shock and it shines for those who like to go big more than little but it still handles slow speed shock absorption very well. It’s damp when you pick up speed too.
So, all in all, we were super impressed with the feel and overall personality of the Nitro Team Pro. It’s a very adjustable binding too and we feel it can work with a pretty wide variety of boards.
