Korua Stealth 2018 Review by The Good Ride

The Korua Stealth feels like a Tranny Finder with a super long nose giving it more of a directional feel. Once I got on the 156 this board came alive to me.  Where I feel the Pencil 164 and Puzzle 161 ride smaller than their size the Stealth felt bigger than a 163. So if you want lots of camber underfoot but a big nose that will float in deep powder then this could work.

Ethics Statement: We don’t do reviews in exchange for compensation from the manufacturer.  No one is perfect but this is our best attempt at an honest and objective review from an average riders perspective.

How This Review Happened:  We borrowed this for an extended demo and then returned it.

Size: 163 and 156 (update coming)
Days:  7 and more coming.
Conditions:  Pretty good mid to late winter snow with great groomers going from perfect to a bit uneven.  With the 156 we had really deep powder up to 4+ feet in some areas and some great slacountry runs thanks to the Drift Boards.
Riders: James (Size 9, 5’10” 185-195lbs), Peter  and Grant Size 11.5 6’0″ 165lbs
Boots: Adidas Tactical ADV, Burton SLX
Insoles: Sandsole Custom Insoles
Bindings: Union Atlas
Set Up
: For the size 163 Korua Stealth– 22″ and 22.5” on Reference stance 18 front -6 back.  For the Size 156 Korua Stealth 22″ wide 21 front 0 back, 27 front +9 back and 21 front -6 back.

I really loved this board, I have the 2019 in a 163. Compared to my older Ride 163, the Stealth actually has about 10-15cm less running length between the contact points due to a lot of length being taken up by the rockered nose, so this actually felt to me like it rides shorter than 163. I find it to be quite nimble in the trees due to the short tail and shorter length between the contact points, and it carves like all Koruas-like a dream! It's a fairly wide board but it feels pretty quick edge to edge and it's nice to be able to not worry about booting out on carves, even with a size 11 boot. I've been lucky enough to ride it in a foot or so of great fresh powder and it floats really well too. I have even ridden it switch some and while it's obviously not ideal it can pull it off. I would really recommend this board for any bigger rider that loves powder, trees, and turning!
