Positives
- Feels very centered/non-tapered ride.
- Nice pop on an ollie and carve.
Negatives
- Not great directional float.
Summary
The YES Warca is a very unique short/wide ride. This rides more like a tapered aggressive mtn freestyle twin than a set back directional short/wide.The 2024 YES Warca is the exact same board as the 2023 so this review still stands. The only difference is the graphics.

How It Was Tested
I rode this same day with the YES Hybrid, YES Standard Uninc, YES PYL Uninc and many other boards.
Approximate Weight
The YES Warca feels pretty normal. Not heavy or not too light for its Length/width. (We don’t put in the exact weight because with wood cores there is no consistency in a boards weight)
Sizing
The 150 YES Warca worked really well for my 9 boots and not bad for my 185-190lbs. Same goes for my 5’10” frame. Here are some ideal US boot sizes for the YES Warca.
You can of course go bigger or smaller but these sizes work really well.
148: 8.5-9.5
150: 9-10
153: 9.5-10.5
155: 10-11
For weight I would stay close to YES’ recommended weight ranges. If it comes down to boot size or weight, I would make sure it fits your boot first and then your weight a close second.
Shape/Camber/On Snow Feel/Ability Level
The YES Warca had a pretty true twin/double ender feel even though it has about 4mm of taper. It rides very centered and prefers a rider that likes driving off his front foot more than centered or back footed. This is mainly because of the Bi-Polar Mid-Bite tech that has a more aggressive disruption on the front foot vs. the back foot of the sidecut.
The mostly camber profile of the YES Warca has a pretty consistent feel in all conditions. It does feel pretty locked in though and it’s not the easiest to skid a turn. It’s way easier than full camber though.
Flex Personality
There is a medium stiff feel between the feet but the little bit of early rise makes the tip/tail feel more medium. The YES Warca is pretty easy to butter for it’s flex. There is really good pop while still having some rubbery dampness to it.
Uneven Terrain
The YES Warca did incredibly well for both Davey and I in all kinds of uneven terrain. It did much better than you would thing for such a short/wide ride and it handled everything from hard microbumpy to soft messy snow equally well. It is still a short/wide but I thought it would be way more bucky and bouncy.
Speed
The YES Warca could point it pretty well for such a short/wide ride and it handled moderate straight lines pretty well.
The base glide is above average but not as fast as some boards in this price point. If well waxed there should be no complaints.
Edge Hold
If you lean into that more pronounced Mid-Bite disruption on the front foot it grips pretty well but if you lean back it lets go easier. Still the YES Warca is almost there with symmetrical Mid-Bite, Underbite or even full Magnetraction. It is a pretty solid hard snow ride.
Turning Experience/Carving
The YES Warca had a very fun turning experience that is a little on the turny side of balanced but it can make all kinds of turns. It favors a more front foot weighted turn but in good conditions it can ride center weighted or even back foot weighted. There is lots of camber, a lively flex, and a very satisfying spring out of the turn.
Powder
So I think a lot of readers might be disappointed here if you want to set your board back in powder and get easy directional float. With the 155 you can get 1.5” back from center of board at a 23” stance width. With the 150 you can get 1.5” back from center of board at a 21.5” stance width. That isn’t much…less than the YES Standard Uninc and many other all mountain boards. Massively less than most Alt Freeride boards.. For me, I like a set back directional ride in pow so I was struggling with this coming off the YES PYL Uninc and YES Standard Uninc. Even my Basic Uninc blew doors on this as a directional pow ride. It couldn’t hang with my Spring Break Twin or the YES 20/20 either though. Those float better. Now if you like to ride centered and are used to a camber twin this is going to be great.
Switch/Pipe/Jumps
The YES Warca rides switch very well. I kept forgetting there is 4mm of taper. If you want to send it off big kickers this will perform well. But it also loved going small with me and Davey too. Mini Pipe was fun and I liked it much more than I thought I would. Usually not that into short/wide’s in the pipe but this was fun.
Conclusion
So overall, the YES Warca does cool things and is a very unique ride. I can’t think of another board like it. This would be a “no overlap” quiver addition or a great daily driver for those who like more centered camber dominant rides.
