Rome Butterknife 2015 - 2013 Review by The Good Ride

The Rome Butter Knife has a playful jib feel that is made primarily for Jib parks but has a little extra something going on for the desire to get out to other parts of the park and even the mountain if you desire. It’s small with a normal waist like many jib boards these days.

Ethics Statement: We don’t get paid by the manufacturer to write these reviews.  We do make money from the “Where To Buy” links, but this is our best attempt at an honest and objective review from an average riders’ perspective.

The flat to rocker profile seems similar to the other boards except the tip/tail is turned up on the sides making it very easy to butter and jib about.  The flat extends almost the entire way to the nose/tail but tapers down to a cone-like a point.  This allows you to generate more pop in an Ollie and have more fun jumping. The flex is soft and very playful.  You can butter for days and really have fun.  This is no all mountain freestyle board but groomers aren’t terrible.  The Quick Rip sidecut makes this jib board carve a bit better than you would expect.  It really is fun to butter, carve butter, jump, butter carver. The pipe isn’t this boards forte but it can climb a pipe wall OK. Jibbing is where this board shines. It’s fun anywhere from technical rails to any type of bonk you want to enjoy.
