Summary
The Ride Burnout is a twin with a long effective edge combined with a mellow but somewhat long hybrid camber that gives it good drive regular and switch. It also had above-average edge hold for Ride.Update 2024: The Ride Burnout seems to be very similar to the 2020 I rode with the exception of a change to the top sheet. It is now more durable and a little more damp. So overall, this review is very relevant this day.

Ride Burnout Table Video and Written Review Review by The Good Ride
Welcome to the Ride Burnout Snowboard Review from an average rider with an exceptionally objective perspective.
Ethics Statement: We don’t get paid by the manufacturer to write these reviews. We do make money from the “Where To Buy” links, but this is our best attempt at an honest and objective review from an average riders’ perspective.
How This Review Happened: We borrowed the Ride Burnout for an extended demo and then returned it.
Size: 155
Days: 3
Conditions: Pretty great mid-winter snow.
Riders: James (Size 9, 5’10” 185-195lbs)
Boots: Adidas Tactical ADV
Insoles: Sandsole Custom Insoles
Bindings: Union Strata, Union Superpro, Ride LTD
Similar Boards (but not the same):
Lib Tech TRS HP, Never Summer Proto Type Two, Nitro Fury, Yes Greats, Lib Tech Hot Knife, Stone Message, Signal Disruptor, Yes Not So Basic
Set-Up: 22” Wide. 15 front -15 back. Centered.
Approximate Weight
Feels normalish but it’s weird. It looks so thin that you would think it would be a potato chip posing as a snowboard but then you pick it up and feel all this reliable girth to it.
Sizing
The 155 felt just right for my specs.
Flex/Buttering
The mediumish flex of the Ride Burnout is pretty doable for buttering but it took a little work to get the tip and tail. I kind of like that medium effort over too easy but it comes down to your weight and strength.
On Snow Feel/Ability Level/Skidded Turns
The Ride Burnout has a very stable bordering on being semi-catchy hybrid camber profile. It’s long effective edge makes this 155 feel like it’s bigger than it’s size but that’s what it’s supposed to do. Skidding turns when you are off your game is very doable.
Edge Hold
Pretty good edge hold. Ride might be stepping up their game or it might just be the tune or lack thereof of the demo board we tried. In the few hard patches, we had in this great mid/winter snow it gripped well.
Turn Initiation
Pretty fast initially edge to edge but when the edge is set it slows down a bit as the edge is committed to a turn.
Turning Experience/Carving
There is a little more spring out of the turn than I expected and the Ride Burnout is a fun board to make harder turns with and it carves well regular and switch.
Powder
The rocker in the tip/tail definitely helps make this not as much of a cartwheeler as it could be. There isn’t that much setback on board either.
Speed
The Ride Burnout has that same medium flex that many all-mountain boards do and it is a good twin for a straight line or two but it isn’t the board you get from Ride if all you do is point it.
Uneven Terrain
The Ride Burnout does a good job powering over or around uneven terrain and it’s a good all-day resort rider.
Switch
Almost perfect either way.
Jumps/Park
Some can jib well with the Ride Burnout but for us average riders it didn’t inspire confidence there. The pipe was fun even though it was pretty messed up in there and it had a good bit of pop and has a stable approach that tracks well into and out of a kicker or natural hit.
So the Ride Burnout is a pretty good semi-technical/semi-aggressive mountain freestyle ride that seems like it’s pretty specialized but as long as you aren’t after deep powder it has decent appeal.
