The Nitro Mercy Women’s Snowboard is made for those freestyle shredders out there, a true twin with a hybrid camber profile that is as fun to ride and really shines in the park. The Mercy is very quick and fun to turn and has great light and lively feel underfoot.

If you are a freestyle type rider and like to ride switch just as much as regular, or are looking for your next dedicated park board, this one might interest you.

Days: A few runs during demo days

Conditions: Medium soft snow to hard pack groomers, and dust on crust

Riders: Steph

Approximate Weight: The Mercy feels normal to light on your feet, it is very maneuverable and easy to throw around in a pinch.

Flex/Buttering: It is a 4/10 on Nitro’s flex scale, it felt like good responsive medium flex to me, and was pretty easy to butter as well.

Sizing: 138, 142, 146, 149

On Snow Feel: Stable on a flat base. And easy to lock into an edge if need be, but also easy to release it.

Edge Hold: Nice edge hold for the hard pack and semi-icy snow conditions.

Turn Initiation: Very fun and easy and fast turning from edge to edge.

Turning Experience: The Mercy has a great nimble yet stable feel when turning. That’s my favorite combination. It helps me feel inspired about taking interesting lines and playing around but still confident enough when you have to get serious as well.

Carving: I found the Mercy to be fun to carve. It seems to have a smaller radius carve than your average “carve” board, but you can lay a few trenches for sure.

Speed: Stable at higher speeds. But it is a shorter freestyle deck so it’s not going to rocket down the mountain. It wants to turn a little bit in between.

Uneven Terrain: Rides great on multiple types of snow. It’s easy to turn around bumps, probably not the best for charging through super choppy snow, but it is nimble enough to turn through it. You’re just going to get a leg work out by the time you reach the bottom.

Powder: Not really a powder board, it is a true twin. It has a little bit of early rise in the tip and tail but not much else.

Switch: Rides switch just as good as normal.

Jumps: Really fun on jumps, great pop and easy to get off the ground. Also very easy to spin.

Jibbing: Fun to take to rails or boxes, very light and nimble.

Pipe: Would do well in the pipe. It’s short and stable, has nice pop and has camber which is all the ingredients I want in a pipe board.

Overall: The Nitro Mercy would make a very solid park snowboard. I found it a lot of fun to turn all over the mountain, playing on side hits and in the park. It is really easy to turn and progress on. If you are looking for a freestyle board that is a true twin, this would be a solid option.
