So K2 Lime Lite Is a nice evolution from the Va Va Voom which was a mostly flat jib rocker board that many liked.  The Lime Lite is more loose and playful.  It’s super fun to butter and it’s a top notch jibber board that can handle other places in the park.  We call this a jib/street board but it is also a great park/freestyle board.

The K2 Lime Light is the K2 Va Va Voom with a new name and slightly newer tech.  The ride is very similar but the nose was further blunted as well as giving the board a little more effective edge. So you have a smaller more easy to throw around board. Not sure if it needed a new name but the improvements are nice.

On Snow Feel: The mostly flat camber profile makes for a stable ride that will be appreciated on groomers if you take it mellow.  It’s a fun board to play around with on the mountain and makes for a much better ride than we thought it would be. It’s a very fun butter, ollie, small to medium turn, treat the mountain like a park kind of board. When you enter into the park it comes a live.  It’s most comfortable in the jib park and it’s not bad hitting a jump either. Not really a pipe board but you get the idea of this ride now eh?

Powder: This is almost a flat board with just a little bit of rocker in the tip/tail.  This doesn’t make for a great powder ride.  It’s not pointing up or down so if you aren’t on your game you could have float issues.

Turn Initiation and Carving– Another part of the pop game is a board’s ability to flex in and out of a turn which is minor for most park riding. This isn’t as important for a jib board but getting a little return out of your carve feels good and the Lime Lite is missing that. Still it’s easy to initiate turns and will be more than suitable for park riding.

Speed: The Lime Lite was just fine at moderate speeds but that is about where the good times end.  We thought the Lime Lite would just be average or even worse but it isn’t bad with a little moderate mountain speed.

Uneven Terrain: It’s not that important for a park board but it can noodle over bumps at slow speeds without a problem.

Approximate Weight: It felt light but sturdy.

Edge Hold: The edge hold was good but not suited for harder snow like you would find on the east coast or some of the firmer days at your average resort. This is a jib board so edge hold isn’t as important as it is for other types of rides out there. Still we have seen some jib boards with excellent edge hold so after they are filed down they still grip well enough for other park endeavors.  The more you slide and bonk this the less edge hold you will have.

Flex: The bamboo in the core makes for a very resilient flex. It’s easy to butter as well as get some snap back on an ollie. We like the new tip and tail for presses and butters a little better than the old Va Va Voom

Switch: It’s a true twin and rides the same either way.

Jibbing– Probably the strong point of the Lime Lite.  It has a lot of flat in the board it could almost be called a flat camber shape.  This is great for jibbing. The Lime Lite is also very sturdy so it’s going to hold up pretty well to rail abuse.  You can get pretty technical on this board in the jib park and it’s a really fun ride if that is what you are looking to mainly do.

Pipe: When a board is lacking on a carve it’s usually not that good in the pipe.  If this had more edge hold it wouldn’t be bad. Still you can have moderate fun in the pipe when it’s soft.

Jumps: Fun and springy on an Ollie. We found this pretty easy to ollie and very fun when lapping the lines of kickers in the park. The newer nose and tail evolution from the Va Va Voom is more spin friendly and a good all around jump board.  It’s also provides a stable approach to a kicker.
