K2 Carve Air 2017 Review by The Good Ride

The K2 Carve Air is a pretty fun ride and out of all of K2’s new freeride/powder line we found this the most fun. We ride a lot of short fatty’s like the Carve Air and our biggest complaint was the mid-level edge hold as well as a bit of a twitchy feel compared to some of its peers in the industry.  You can see from the video though that every time I started to commit to the edge and really carve the edge would let go and start to wash.  It did have good pop though and in good snow, it did carve well.

I tried this board on Rok On Snowboard Tour in Val Thorens in november 2015... then buy it...(154cm, 2016 model)
I rode it 20 days from icy snow (early morning on glacier in summer) to slush and by 10/12'' light french Alps powder.
I'm mostly agree with the review, just I'd quote:
- Powder: Good ( 3/5 ) fun wide but, make the job but not true powder board
- Carving: Great ( 4,5/5 ) VERY FUN, it carves like it have an autopilot
- Speed: Great ( 4,5/5 ) Very fast base, very stable for a such short board, even when snow is a little bumpy
And I feel it hold edge on med/hard snow (3,5/5), not as good as my Yes Basic with underbite or my Ros XV Magtek, also a little off my Hovercraft and as good or a little better than my Amplid Paradigma (hybrid camber like C2BTX from LibTech), now I tune is edge at 89° and I feel it hold a little better on hard snow (4/5).
A very good "resort slasher" to run fast laps, carve on tracks, and play with terrain thanks to the good pop.
love it, good paring with the Salomon Defender and is shadow fit that make a "custom fiting" around your feet...
Officials technicals datas said the 149 is wider (waist) than the 154 but I mesure more than 26,1cm at the waist for my 154, mistake?
Sorry for my bad english...
