How This Review Happened:  Borrowed this for an extended demo and sent it back.

Conditions: Ok spring conditions and some pretty rainy but pretty good snow.

Fit

The Nidecker Kita fit my 9 very true to size but my E width is always a bit troublesome with most normal boots. With some boot fitting foam on the sides of my feet and a heat mold I should be able to blow out the sides. That way I don’t cramp up and get cold.

Flex/ Flex Retention/Construction

The Nidecker Kita is very stiff. The response matches the flex too. I would probably like the flex of these boots after about 30 days when the flex breaks down. There isn’t a lot of flex retention happening but there is some material in the ankle area to help preserve the flex.

Adjustability/Heel Hold

You have a double boa with the Nidecker Kita that has a separate upper/lower but does almost overlap to help keep a pretty good grip around the ankle. So if you want to compromise a little in each area you can get the best you can get with adjustability and heel hold.

Shock Absorption

There is a lot of eva foam before the stiff Vibram sole in the Nidecker Kita but it’s pretty dense and not that soft. So great for dampness but not the best for slow speed shock absorption.

On & Off

Double BOA is slow on with the Nidecker Kita but really fast getting it off when you are done with the day.

Traction

Vibram sole…so excellent traction.

Reduced Footprint

The Nidecker Kita is very close to my Burton Kendo

Conclusion

I’m personally not into stiff boots like the Nidecker Kita and the Rift was way more my style of boot. That being said this is a great boot for what it is and it competes very well with many other super stiff boots in the industry.
