A Real Comparison of the 2025 Smith Everyday Lenses Review by The Good Ride
How The Smith Chromapop Everyday Lenses Actually Look

How the Smith Everyday Lenses Were Tested:
I boutght these with hard earned Good Ride cash because I use all these lenses in my Smith 4D Mag Low Bridge Fit Goggles. Except for the new Chromapop Blue Mirror that I only have about 5 days on, I have used the rest of these lenses more days than I can count.

Everyday Chromapop Photochromic Rose Flash 30-50% VLT
This is a great low to mid light lens and what I like about this on those varied light days is how it never dips below 30% VLT so it’s a great lens for those days when it’s sunny for a bit and then cloudy for a bit. It’s slow to transtiion, which I don’t like, but at least the VLT doesn’t go super low like the other everyday lenses so if you go from bright to low light/shade really quickly the transtiion isn’t that hard on the eyse.

Photo Rose Flash In Bright Sunlight
Everyday Chromapop Photochromic Red Mirror 20-40% VLT
I like the Photocchromic Red Mirror for mostly sunny days or mostly cloudy days as I find the 20-240% VLT can get a little too dark if you go from bright light to shade or low light really quickly when riding. It’s best for riding when it’s pretty bright all day or medium overcast all day.

Everyday PhotoChromic Red Mirror In Bright Sunlight
Everyday Chromapop Red Mirror 25% VLT
I found the Everyday Red Mirror to be one of my favorites for medium – bright mid winter days with runs that have long shaded spots. I find that I can still see when I hit the shadded area this is the best of all the everyday lenses except the Photochromic Rose Flash. However, the Everyday Rose does much better in brighter light so it’s one of my favorite mid-winter bright day lenses for this reason.

Everyday Chromapop Blue Mirror 23% VLT
This is a new lens for 2025 (I think) and it’s the most neutral Everyday lens for sure. When your eyes adjust it almost doesn’t feel like you have a lens on and the clarity is exceptional. For me personaly, I like seeing some color but for those that want a more realistic look, the Blue Mirror is pretty exceptional. It does very well transitioning from Sun to Shade and I like it almost as much or the same as my personal favorite the Everyday Red Mirror.

Everyday Chromapop Rose Gold 22% VLT
Before the Blue Mirror the Rose Gold was probably the most neutral everyday lens. It transitions from sunny to shade pretty well too and while it’s never been one of my top choices but I use it here and there on bright mid-winter days. It does transition well from bright to shady but not as good as the Everyday Red and Blue.

Everyday Chromapop Violet Mirror 23% VLT
I like this creamy orange/yellow look but it’s more neutral and not quite as bright yellow/orange as it looks in the pic. It’s not my personal favorite but it really comes down to what works best for your eye.

Everyday Chromapop Green Mirror 23% VLT
The Green Mirror is one of my personal favorites for really bright days early to late spring up at Mt. Bachelor and I even can use this in the summer up at Mt. Hood but there are for sure better sunny day lenses at really bright resorts. I just love the way this purplish/red tint under the green mirror looks and it’s by far the best for having a really colored look without loosing contrast. It is probably the most comparable to some of Oakley’s super colorful lenses but with a little more depth perception/clarity.

All Lenses Compared

Final Thoughts
All these lenses work very well and allow more contrast than every lens I’ve tried from other brands. There are other brands like Oakley, that have more vibrant colors and show good contrast but it’s a little behind Smith. Oakley’s can fog up in certain weather where Smith Lenses rarely ever fog up.
