Approximate Weight

The Capita SB Resort Twin felt pretty light for a 500-ish-priced board. (We don’t put in the exact weight because, with wood cores, there is no consistency in a board’s weight)

Sizing

This 156 Capita SB Resort Twin fit my boots no problem and felt fine for my weight as a mountain-freestyle board, except in uneven snow. I’m a little heavy for it, but not enough for it to be a problem. I don’t think the 158 would reduce chatter sufficiently to be worth it.

Sizing is all about balancing what fits your boot size and your weight for how you like to ride. If your boot is too wide, you can’t turn it; if it’s too narrow, you get the dreaded Toe & Heel Drag. Your weight is a close second to boot size because it determines how the board will feel under your foot.  Height comes in a distant 3^rd. Some prefer control, so matching the boot size is the priority. Others prefer dampness over control and like to size up.

Here are some ideal US boot sizes for these boards.
152: 7-8
154: 7.5-8.5
156: 8.5-9.5
158: 9-10
160: 9.5-10.5
155w:10.5-11.5
158w:11-12

I would stay close to or slightly below the brand’s recommended weight ranges. If it comes down to boot size or weight, I would ensure it fits your boot first and then your weight a close second.

Shape

The The Capita SB Resort Twin is a true twin in every way and has a very centered feel.

Camber/On Snow Feel/Ability Level

A mellow camber between the feet goes a little past the inserts, and then there is a good bit of early rise before the nose/tail. It makes for a stable but very forgiving ride. It tracks well on one footing and flat basing, but it’s easy to skid a turn if you get off your game. Any ability level can ride this.

Flex Personality

The Capita SB Resort Twin has a medium flex, but it never stops flexing. It’s like you can bend the board in half, and it will snap back. So that means it’s easy to butter, but it also pops really well on an ollie, especially for how little camber it has. You can get more pop from boards like the Indoor Survival, but it comes at the price of being forgiving.

Uneven Snow

It really bucked and bounced me around more than most boards like it. Hard, uneven snow isn’t as bad. This is just a Capita thing lately. Most of their boards have this ultra-light, ultra-flexy, ultra-poppy, but ultra-bucky construction.

Edge Hold

I like the addition of Death Grip (1.5mm extension on each side of the waist). It helped me in that hard morning spring snow. It’s not amazing but borders on being a very competent hard snow ride.

Speed

The Capita SB Resort Twin is not a board for pointing it unless it’s for short, straight lines into a jump. It’s a mellow mountain freestyle ride for moderate/playful speeds.

Base Glide

Capita has done great things in the last 5+ years when it comes to base glide, and the Capita SB Resort Twin is no exception. I actually liked that there isn’t as much structure as some of their higher-end bases, which can grab a bit too much. It has an easy glide to it for this price point.

Turning Experience/Carving

The Capita SB Resort Twin initiates a turn pretty fast. When the edge is committed, you have a pretty balanced turning experience. It doesn’t do any one type of turn well but never sucks at anything, either. It can carve well for how little camber there is, but it’s far from being a board you want if you really like to carve on twins. There are better boards out there for that.

Powder

I didn’t get the Capita SB Resort Twin in powder, but I would much rather be on the SB Pow Twin instead. You get a hell of a lot more float out of that. It’s a much better centered/twin pow experience.

Switch/Freestyle/Park

This is an excellent riding switch—it’s a true twin. I’m not a park guy. I’m old and have lots of injuries, but this is the kind of forgiving ride I would want to take there.

Final Thoughts

So I really liked the older SB Asym Twin from back in the day that evolved into the Asymulator but the Capita SB Resort Twin is no slouch of a board. As long as you are ok with it’s bucky uneven snow performance you have a very fun forgiving ride.
