The Good Ride 2025 Top/Best/Favorite Low-Cost All-Mountain Snowboards
Welcome to the Good Ride, I’m James Biesty and No One Compares boards like I do so you are going to want to check out this Low Cost…Well…Reasonably Priced All Mountain Favorites List. I’ve ridden over 800 different models of snowboards and about 1,000 boards if you count the different versions of the same models. I own 6 pairs of Union Force’s so I can do same day comparisons to extensively test boards in all conditions. Literally, no one else does this. I’m no ripper, but I’m consistent, honest, objective and have an exceptional snowboard gear memory.
This Is No Pay To Play Top/Best Of/Favorite All-Mountain Snowboard List
I don’t charge the brands to be on this list, require that I keep the boards, or allow any outside influence. These boards earned their Best/Top/Favorite spot strictly by how they ride after extensive testing and comparing. These are boards I would like to own and often recommend.

What is an All-Mountain Snowboard to The Good Ride?
This is a normal width and normal length board with minimal to no taper. This is one board quiver that rides pretty centered on groomers and is good to great switch. But, unlike mountain freestyle twins, you can set it back in powder to get an easier float. If you want something more Directional, Tapered, and Set back with better float in powder, check out the Freeride, Alt Freeride, Short Wide, and Snowsurf Favorites. Also, check our Over $500 All Mountain Favorites.

Here Is The Good Ride Favorite Low Cost All Mountain Favorite Snowboards List
Jones Rally Cat $449
(Best Pop For The Price, Easy Flexing Forgiving Fun Anywhere)
Ability Level
Beginner To Expert
Positives/Swipe Right
Great Pop, Good Grip, Good Pow Set Back, Great base for the price, Forgiving, easy to butter, Good in uneven snow for its flex, and very fun switch or in the park
Negatives/Swipe Left
Not As Much Float As Some Rides
The Jones Rally Cat is new, and it made the 2025 Low-Cost Favorite All-Mountain Snowboards list because it blew me away at this price point and compared to higher-end boards I tested it against. It’s got a lot of camber, yet it’s very forgiving, thanks to the lifted sides. It’s got a lot of pop for an ollie, but it’s easy to butter, and the lifted sides don’t feel too washy. You can set it 2.125” back from the center of the board at a 22” stance width to get a decent float in powder. You can ride Switch easily, and it’s a very easy/fun park ride.
Shape/Stance Locations
Directional Twin with a longer nose than tail
-20mm On Sidecut @ 21.5”
-2.125” on board @ 22” for decent but not amazing directional float in pow.
Camber
It’s mostly camber, but with lifted sides and a little early rise, it feels forgiving and more floaty than full camber. It has an almost full camber feel underfoot that tracks super well.
Flex Personality
Medium-soft that’s easy to butter, great Pop on an ollie, and really good out of a carve for this flex.
Edge Hold
It is a mellow disruption with a very effective grip.
Turning Experience
Medium/fast to fast Turn Initiation. A Balanced Turning Radius springs out of the turn.
Speed/Base Glide
It’s a little too soft to point through a run, but it’s great for most-size kickers and a great base for this price point.
Jones Frontier $499
(Forgiving Aggressive Directional)
Ability Level
Beginner To Expert
Positives/Swipe Right
Fun to Turn, Directional, Solid Grip, Stiff, Fast, Damp, Forgiving, Good Float
Negatives/Swipe Left
Spoon tech can feel a touch washy in harder snow. Super Wide Reference Stance.
The Jones Frontier often gets pigeonholed as a beginner/intermediate board, but it’s so much more than that. It’s got a much stiffer flex than what’s listed on Jones’ site the last few years. In same-day tests, it was stiffer than the Mountain Twin, Ultra Mountain Twin Pro

Shape
It is pretty directional but not tapered
-20mm @23.6” Back On Sidecut
-2.375”@ 22.6” Back On Board For Pow
Camber
Directional Camber with a lot of early rise leads to a Moderate Spoon Nose/Tail, so with the setback on board, it floats very well.
Flex Personality
Medium-Stiff: It has Good but not upper-tier pop on an ollie or spring out of a turn. It is great in soft, uneven snow and not as good in hard, uneven snow, but it is still very doable.
Sidecut/Edge Hold/Turning Experience/Speed
The sidecut has a mellow disruption that grips well in hard snow and has a turny side of balanced feel but can still go straight very well when you want to.
Base Glide
This is a very fast base for $499 and faster than most at higher price points.
Korua Otto $495
(Fast, Hard Carving, and Great Floating At Any Price)
Ability Level
Committed Intermediate To Expert
Positives/Swipe Right
Exceptional Carver. Very good setback directional float for an all-mtn board. Damp in soft, uneven snow. Good at high speeds.
Negatives/Swipe Left
It is on the stiffer side for All-MTN and has a touch on the heavy side. Not the easiest to butter.
The Korua Otto comes at a very reasonable price, but it’s far from what I would call a compromised low-cost board. It outshines many boards on the above $500 list when it comes to having a special carving experience, pop on an ollie, dampness at speed, and floats in powder. I own this in a 157. This is an exceptional choice for normal boot-size riders like me, who want a hard carver or a great fitting mid/wide as their daily driver.
Shape
Directional with a much longer nose than tail.
-10mm On Sidecut @ 21”
-3.625” On Board @ 22” set back for pow
Camber Profile/On Snow Feel
Directional Camber with decent early rise in the nose and moderate early rise in the tail to make it somewhat forgiving and very stable for this much camber while being very floaty when set back for powder. The Otto and the United Shapes Horizon are my favorite All Mtn Boards on these two lists in powder.
Flex
Medium-Stiff that can butter reasonably well but pops well with a little extra work on an ollie and springs out of turn.
Sidecut/Edge Hold/Turning Experience/Speed
The sidecut grips well for no disruption and gives you a very balanced turning experience. It’s very comfortable going fast and one of the better all-mountain boards for pointing at any price.
Base Glide
This base glide is not the fastest, but in the upper tier for sure.
Ride Shadowban $549
(Not Under $500 but Often Found Cheap/Forgiving Do Everything Every Person Ride)
Ability Level
Beginner To Expert
Positives/Swipe Right
Forgiving, Stable, Damp, Great Switch, Solid Float In pow
Negatives/Swipe Left
Slower Base, Not as poppy as some rides.
The Ride Shadowban was A Good Ride Favorite from 2023-2024, and while it got bumped out by some more poppy, versatile rides with faster bass, it’s still super recommendable. Especially for riders who want something forgiving and easy to ride but still fun. The base isn’t fast, and it doesn’t pop as much as some rides, but it’s still fun to turn and ollie with.

Shape
Twinish to Directional Twin with a nose a good bit longer than the tail.
-.75” @ 22” back on sidecut
-2.25” @ 22.75” all the way back in pow
Camber/On Snow Feel
It has a slightly set-back mellow camber with a little more early rise in the nose compared to the tail. It’s stable like a camber but very forgiving. When you factor in the camber along with the set-back, it has a very good directional float for a twinkish board that rides switch so well.
Flex Personality
You have a pretty medium flex that feels softer/easier to butter on snow than it does in the studio. The pop on an ollie or out of turn is medium but not boring, and this is an exceptional all-day ride when the snow gets hard or soft and uneven.
Sidecut/Edge Hold/Turning Experience/Speed
A multi-radius sidecut has a competent but not all-time grip in firm to hard snow, and it’s not ideal on ice. The turning experience is on the turny side of balanced, so it works well with any turn you want to make.
Base Glide
The base is slow, and it’s best to wax this a lot.
Gnu Antigravity $479
(Low-Cost Hard Snow Easy Buttering, Supper Poppy Favorite)
Ability Level
Advanced To Expert
Positives/Swipe Right
It has Exceptional Grip and excellent Pop. It’s pretty easy to butter for full Camber and super Fun to Turn.
Negatives/Swipe Left
Catchy. I wish it had the Lib Rig camber: slower Base but average for the price.
The Gnu Antigravity is an excellent choice for those who want stability and grip but great pop at a reasonable price. Regarding camber, sidecut, and construction, it is a lower-end version of the Dynamo (our over $500 Hard Snow Favorite) but with a nose/tail like the Lib Rig, a slower base, and a different top sheet.
Shape
It is directional with a mild taper that doesn’t feel very tapered.
-1” @ approximately a 22” Stance Width
-2.25” @ 22.75” back on board set back for pow
Camber/On Snow Feel
It’s Full Camber from tip to tail with a passive bend in the middle, so it’s pretty catchy and unforgiving, but it tracks really well in all conditions.
Flex Personality
It says it’s a 6/10 medium, but the four versions of this board I’ve ridden over the years all feel a bit more like a 5 out of 10. It butters easily in the nose/tail for a full camber. It’s very poppy on an ollie and has a very springy turn.
Sidecut/Edge Hold/Turning Experience/Speed
The Gnu Antigravity has seven disruptions in the sidecut that have near exceptional grip and a balanced sidecut that adapts well to almost any kind of turn you make except higher speed super hard carves. It’s a little soft for that.
Base Glide
The base is slow but durable and doesn’t need to be waxed all the time.
