Summary
The YES Pick Your Line XTRM, basically the Pick Your Line Uninc, but with a stiffer flex. It's a more tapered, directional, wider version of the regular Pick Your Line with more set back, more slashy floatyness, but still has that nice big mountain personality. This works with a wider variety of riders who like a little bit more of a set back medium angle powder board as well. This carves groomers incredibly well and it does a lot of things right, and it's a board I recommend a lot.Where To Buy

Construction / Durability / Weight
The topsheet of the YES Pick Your Line XTRM is pretty durable but still prone to scuffing like most boards out there. It does feel heavier than it used to but also feels more durable and damp. (We don’t put in the exact weight because with wood cores, there is no consistency in a board’s weight)
Sizing

The YES Pick Your Line XTRM is best for me in a 157 but I could easily ride this in any size. Don’t think it’s a mid-wide though just because it has a wider waist. The width over the back insert is a good bit narrower vs. the waist and front foot width. So if I wanted a super quick turning super easy to control board I could go 155. Especially with the stiffer flex. 157 feels great for a balance of control but with better float and speed. The 159 or 161 could easily work for riders my specs or with a 10 instead of 9 boot and want more speed float and care a little less about control.
The Good Ride’s Conservative / Safe Boot Size Recommendation
These are sizes that will keep you from booting out (super bad) or be too wide to turn quickly in critical situations.
155: 9-10
157: 9-10
159: 9.5.-10.5
161: 9.5-10.5
There is often more than one size that will work for your specs and how you like to ride. Size down for more control and size up for more speed/stability/carving power.. If it comes down to boot size or weight, I would ensure it fits your boot first and then your weight a close second.
Shape & Setback

The YES Pick Your Line XTRM is pretty tapered and directional. There’s a lot more nose happening than the tail. It’s much more so than the Pick Your Line. This has 15mm of taper where the Pick Your Line’s at about -5.6mm of taper in the 159. What’s interesting though is this is centered on side cut versus -10 millimeters on side cut with the regular Pick Your Line. And that’s a rather taint freeing 22.5in wide stance width. When you factor in setback on board versus setback on side cut on reference stance, it’s 1.75in back from center of board. And then if you set it all the way back with a full size disc, you can get 3.375in back from center of board at the same 22.5in stance. So it has more set back on board than the Pick Your Line, but not as much as even the All In XTRM. However, the extra taper makes you feel like you’re more set back and more directional than the All In XTRM.
Camber/On Snow Feel

The YES Pick Your Line XTRM has decent amount of camber, going to a little bit of early rise before the tail and a little more early rise before the nose. This doesn’t feel like a lot of board on snow on groomers. This is pretty easy to skid a turn. The stiffer flex makes it a little more difficult than past years to turn and twist and engage in a turn compared to the older model. I’d say any intermediate could have a go at this, but committed intermediates who are really looking to push into that advanced to expert level will be happier with this, but you can still get a turn pretty easy, and it’s a far cry from full on real camber that I learned on and broke myself on many a time back in the day. But what I like about the YES Pick Your Line XTRM is it has that same consistent, tapered directional feel in every kind of condition, from hard snow to soft snow. You always know what you’re getting underfoot.
Edge Hold

The YES Pick Your Line XTRM has these two indentations here. One that’s a slight bit more aggressive on the front foot that indents and carries towards the tail. Then a second indention on the back foot that indents a little less and carries towards the tail as well. It’s a very different feel from the tapered mid bite that you see on other boards in the YES line and it has grip very similar to the full on Magnetraction that you get with Mervin boards. It’s a very competent hard to icy snow ride.
Flex Personality

This YES Pick Your Line XTRM 159 is a lot stiffer than the past. YES tweaked their flex over their entire line to better match the flex rating that you see online. Now it’s much closer to the flex rating. You’ve got a very stiff tail, a little softer between the feet but not much, and then the nose is a little bit softer. Overall this is now for sure a medium stiff flex. Across the board it is much stiffer, but it’s still got a decent pop to it.
Butters & Ollies

The YES Pick Your Line XTRM takes a little more work than past models to access this flex, but it’s still easy to access for an average rider like myself. I found this was pretty easy to ollie.

When buttering off the tail it’s a little more work, but still pretty doable. The nose is a little easier, but it takes some work as well.
While I like the Pick Your Line for lining up tricky side hits that might have an uneven path to the little launch, this still does pretty well for that. It really shines launching off big natural features.
Switch & Park
I didn’t find the YES Pick Your Line XTRM super easy to ride switch and it’s less doable than the Pick Your Line for sure.
When getting air, this is not very set back on board, so there’s a lot of tail / landing gear, just in case you get off your game a little bit on a big air. You’re also centered on board in the air, and that’s a much better feeling than being way back on the tail, with some more directional tapered boards that lean on the more surfy side. Not bad pipe, but I like the Pick Your Line better for that. And pretty bad for jibbing, even worse now with the stiffer flex.
Uneven Snow
The YES Pick Your Line XTRM does a lot better in soft, uneven snow thanks to this stiffer flex. Hard uneven snow is about the same as past year’s models and it was pretty good there before. So overall you’re getting a bump in terms of uneven snow performance and a very good all day ride.
Turning / Carving / Speed

The YES Pick Your Line XTRM turned a little slower edge to edge than the Pick Your Line 59. For my size nine boots, the narrower board has much quicker turn initiation, but for this width it turns pretty quick. This multi radius side cut along with these indentations is just really magical for allowing you to be a different kind of rider.
If you want a straight line you can straight line with this, and this stiffer flex really makes this a better straight liner. It has a very unique feel that allows you to make any kind of radius turn you want from straight lines all the way down to circle carves, and it really shines for all of them. Then you factor in this camber, the stiffer flex and this pretty poppy personality. It’s a fun turning experience.
Base Glide

The clear base of the YES Pick Your Line XTRM glides pretty well. Not the fastest to fast, but it’s pretty good. When well waxed it keeps its speed almost there with the best of them. When you don’t wax it, it can usually be okay in harder conditions, but softer conditions you might feel that dry base and it can get a little sticky and slow. So keep this well maintained and you’ve got a good base there.
Powder

The YES Pick Your Line XTRM is not the best for low angle powder riding, but medium to steep angle powder riding just lights up. I’ve just had a joy riding my 57 in a softer flex over the last few years in all kinds of conditions, including some deep powder. It did very well as long as it didn’t get too low angle.
Final Thoughts
Overall the new YES Pick Your Line XTRM not as light, it’s not as easy to butter and play around with vs. the old Pick Your Line Uninc, but I think most people looking for this board are going to appreciate the stiffer flex when they’re carving, going faster, or they’re in uneven terrain. It does better.
So still a very recommendable board for those who want a more tapered directional, slashy somewhat surfy feel, but don’t want that set back surfy kind of ride because they’re riding steeper terrain or getting lots of air. The YES Pick Your Line XTRM is a board I often recommend to a wide variety of riders. It’s not going to change for 2026, still going to be recommending the hell out of this.
