Rossignol Meraki 2024 - 2020 Review by The Good Ride

iThe Rossignol Meraki is a freestyle twin board that 20 percent camber in the middle of the board and 80 percent rocker starting under the feet and out towards the ends of the board. It offers a loose ride that is easy to turn, makes great skidded turns and butters really well. The Rossignol Meraki also has a serrated edge (3 bumps along the side-cut) to help with icy conditions. And a sintered base to keep it nice and fast.

This review features the Meraki from 2023, but it is still relevant for the 2024 Meraki. Nothing has changed with how the 2024 version rides or with its personality. Just an updated top sheet and look.

Flex

The Meraki comes with a soft 4/10 flex that feels even more soft because it has so much rocker in the board. The soft flex keeps it feeling playful, buttery and catch free. But for being a 4/10 flex, it rides a lot more stable than you would think.

Camber Profile

This board comes with Rossignol’s Amptek Auto Turn Rocker. Which has 20% positive camber in the middle of the board. (So small it is pretty difficult to even see) And 80% rocker throughout the rest of the board.

Base

It comes with a Sintered 4400 Base. Which is pretty cool, because not many playful rocker boards come with Sintered bases. They normally get the extruded base.

Edge Grip

The 3S serrated edges along the sidecut help a lot with grip in icy conditions. It still isn’t ideal for super icy snow because of the rocker and the softer flex. But it does great if you are comparing it to other mostly rocker boards that don’t have any type of disruption along the sidecut.

Turning Experience

The Meraki is fun to make smaller, skidded turns on all over the mountain. It is a mellow and playful ride. It prefers skidded turns to carved turns. But because of how much rocker it has, it is fast and nimble to turn quickly. And it also feels pretty catch free, so good for a beginner rider or someone who is learning new tricks in the park and wants a forgiving ride. ‘

Off Piste

It is fun to ride off piste because it is predictable and mellow. It turns quickly so you can maneuver around tight trees or rocks. But it is a more mellow board, so better for medium speeds and more ideal snow conditions.

Powder

This board floats quite well in powder for being a true twin. The 80% rocker profile helps a lot with this. It is still a mellow board so you can’t charge too hard through deep snow. More for a playful powder day when you aren’t in a rush. Or for someone just learning how to ride powder.

You have an option to set the bindings back a little bit to increase its directional float. On the 145 you can get up to 1″ of set back on board with a stance width of 20.5″.

Park

I had the most fun with this board in the park. It is playful and care free and likes to mess around on smaller park features. The Meraki is very fun on a slushy park day or a day with softer snow conditions. It has a medium amount of pop, so you aren’t flying off the lips of the jumps. But it is very friendly for learning trick on. And it leaves room for error in take offs and landings.

The Meraki is great for smaller jib features as well. Again, not a ton of pop. So for skate style entries onto rail or boxes you have to ollie a bit harder. But it is catch free, so fun to try some spins off the rails or experiment with different tricks.

Overall

The Rossignol Meraki could be a good fit for someone who wants a loose forgiving ride. Or a board that rides switch really well, likes to play in the park or on side hits and small features. Or someone who prefers making skidded turns around the mountain. I think this board would be forgiving enough for a beginner as well as it is very easy to turn and control.
