Ride Antic 2012 - 2011 Review by The Good Ride

The Ride Antic is like a low-cost version of Bezerker except its flat to rocker. It will be the kind of ride that is damp and fast but more forgiving than the Bezerker.  It’s a good powder board and a pretty good board in this price range for learning to pick up speed on groomers. We like the extra rocker in the nose for deeper powder days.  The Antic still misses the pop power that a camber or even some hybrid shapes do when it comes to a carve but it pops good enough when it comes to an ollie. It has the same stability as a cambered board when flat basing or one footing but it’s pretty forgiving.  It’s a very smooth ride that to some the ride is almost too smooth that you don’t really feel anything underneath. Some love this and others like a little more feel under the feet. To others, it’s just what they are looking for. So it’s up to you to decide what type of feeling from the board you are looking for.  If you are into an ultra smooth/damp ride the Antic is a good all mountain choice for the price. If you are an intermediate to advanced rider that is looking to learn how to straight line groomers then the Antic might be the call.  If you want an ultra smooth super stable board feel then the Antic will be a great choice.  The 2011 and 2012 Antics are almost the same boards.

"screaming cloud"

I picked the ride Antic up cheap after a model change (2011-12) and have had it 3 years now; what made me change was the desire to have a setup that was fast, and didnt make you suffer for it!!

Paired with some Cartel bindings this thing just floats, like said cloud, over everything and anything - i thought i was fast before, but now its unbelievable, screaming (see what i did there?!) speeds that make your eyes water and leave you with wind burn.

The edge hold is good, the pop is good on jumps. Lends itself to be surfed more on piste.

Graphics are ok, brand hasnt got cool factor, but not the reason you buy a board.

for the price its spot on
