How This Jones Review Happened:

Borrowed this for an extended demo and sent it back.
Size: 157
Days: 4+
Conditions: Lots of varied but mostly good spring snow along with some good mid-winter snow as well.  Riders: James (Size 9, 5’10” 185-190lbs)

Approximate Weight

The Jones Tweaker felt normal. Not too heavy or too light. (We don’t put in the exact weight because with wood cores there is no consistency in a boards weight)

Sizing

The Jones Tweaker was the right size for my boot size and height. I felt a touch on the heavy side but I wouldn’t want to size up for mtn freestyle riding. For park riding I might even consider a 154.

Here are some ideal US boot sizes for these boards. You can of course go bigger or smaller depending on your riding style and boot’s footprint, but these work best for not turning the board slower than it should be and not having the dreaded Toe & Heel Drag.

For weight it seems like Jones’ recommended weight ranges are on the conservative side and they recommend this board for lighter riders. If it comes down to boot size or weight, I would make sure it fits your boot first and then your weight a close second. I would say that it was Ok for me to go a little over.

Shape/Camber/On Snow Feel/Ability Level

The Jones Tweaker is a true twin with a centered stance. It isn’t like the Jones Mtn Twin that is a directional twin with a set back stance and doesn’t have a slightly longer nose than tail.

The camber profile is full camber from tip to tail but with lifted sides before the spoon nose. In softer snow you can feel the spoon nose make the turning easier but in harder snow the lifted sides before the camber ends can feel a little washy. Not Bataleon TBT washy but it does need a little more weight between the feet.

Flex Personality

The Jones Tweaker is a mellow flex for a Jones board. If I flexed it blindfolded I would have guessed it to be a YES park board. It flexes easy on a butter but pops easy too. I really like this more rubbery but poppy feel.

Uneven Terrain

I like how the softer flex does well with hard microbumpy not perfectly groomed spring snow as well as how it takes on slow speed messy snow as well.

Edge Hold

The disruption of the Jones Tweaker’s sidecut is pretty mellow but it helps compensate for the lifted ends of the effective edge before the nose. With more weight between the feet instead of sending pressure towards the tip/tail it grips pretty well in harder snow.

Speed

Don’t get the Jones Tweaker for pointing it down the hill. It’s not a full on mess but you only want this for a straight line into a kicker.

Turning Experience/Carving

I got a lot of spring out of a turn with the Jones Tweaker but it doesn’t have the flex to really drive hard. It is a very fun mellow/playful carver and has a pretty balanced turning experience. You can make any kind of turns.

Powder

I didn’t even really talk about this in the video review but you can’t really get easy float with the Jones Tweaker. If you are into an easier floating twin look to the Jones Mtn Twin or Mind Expander Twin. They have a better centered stane float happening but the Tweaker is better than a similar true camber twin.

Switch/Pipe/Jumps

The Jones Tweaker is about as good as it gets going either direction. It tracks well into the tiny hits I found on the mtn but seems like it would be a very competent board for park kickers too. Pipe was not perfect but it’s pretty fun.

Conclusion

So overall, it’s great to see jones bring in a true twin to really round out their line. I found it a pretty fun mtn freestyle to park kind of ride.
