The Smarty Compression Cargo Pant is unique to the Smarty line because it comes with a thin liner.

Turn On’s: Size M pants that fit well around my thighs, Riding with Friends, Open Roads, new gear and especially my wife.
Turn Off’s: M Pants that I can’t get up over my thighs, traffic, and people who can’t park inside the lines.

Fit: I’ve always liked the fit of 686 clothing.  Their smarty stuff is generally not that slim so it fits guys with thighs like mine.  I haven’t come close to racking my balls climbing stairs with their expedition fit. It’s normal in the sense that it has an articulated fitted look but still has room inside.
Construction: Pretty good construction here and every pant I’ve owned from 686 has held up pretty well for an 80+ day season.
Insulation/Warmth: It’s not super warm like other smarties with their sweat pant thick liners. This liner is It’s much more of an athletic liner for those that run or play football or sports like that but it translates well to the snowboard world. The combo pant isn’t their most warm but its best for those that want the simplicity of not having to do extra shopping for thermal 1st layers.
Waterproofing: Not bad but with some 686 pants their 15k feels more like 10k.  It’s good for those that just see dryer snow and not a lot of wet weather.
Breathability:10k breathability isn’t much but it breathes.
Overall: You are paying more for the integrated compression pants than superior waterproofing but this could work if you don’t see a lot of wet weather when riding.
