Volcom 3D Stretch Gore-Tex Women 2019 Review by The Good Ride

The Volcom 3D Stretch Gore-Tex Jacket is fully insulated and has a great lightweight and flexible feel and has fully taped seams. This would be a great storm riding jacket, especially if you ride a mountain that gets the heavier wet snow. The hood fits great with a helmet for storm riding or even cold chairlift rides.

Size Tried: Med
Steph’s Specs:
Height: 5’3”
Weight: 108 lbs
Chest: 29”
Upper Chest: 32”
Arm Length (pit to wrist) 20”
Neck: 12.5″
Torso Length (collarbone to pant line) 18”
Shoulder Width 16” wide

Helmet: Smith Maze

Goggles: Dragon

Fit: The 3D jacket has a tailored long fit, the arm lengths are right where I like them, and it has enough room to layer under but you don’t get a baggy look at all. It feels lighter and moves much easier than normal Gore-Tex because of the stretch liner that it has and it feels light even though it has 60g of insulation.

Construction: Seems very well made, should hold up through a lot of laps and seasons.

Hood: The Fixed contoured hood that fits great over a helmet and leaves enough room for turning your head while riding.

Insulation/Warmth: The 3D Stretch jacket comes with 60g of Primaloft Gold Insulation that feels light and should keep you plenty warm.

Waterproofing: The 3D Stretch Jacket is a 2 layer Gore-Tex that is around 28k waterproofing that should keep you nice and dry even on those soggy storm days.

Breathability: 20k breathability

Packability: Normal packability, it is pretty light but don’t think it is made to pack down too compact.

Overall: If you are looking for a higher end jacket that can hang in most storm situations with the waterproof and windproof power of Gore-Tex then the Volcom 3D Stretch Jacket would be a good choice. The 60g of insulation will keep you warm but you can also layer up if you need to.
