Burton AK 3L Haven Jacket 2014 Review by The Good Ride
The Burton AK 3L Haven Jacket is Burton’s flagship women’s jacket/shell. It’s right there with any Arcteryx or another high end mostly skier jacket and it’s for those that see a lot of varying conditions. This is mainly for backcountry riders or people who often see rain at the bottom of the mountain, wet snow half way up and thick snow at the top. It’s also for people who just want the best technical outerwear for snowboarders. This isn’t warm and it packs really small. All this does is shield you from wind and water and it’s one of the only true shells in Burton’s line. This isn’t baggy but has enough room for layering while still articulating around the waist to give a nonfat person look. Most people don’t need anything more than 2 Layer Gore-Tex so this can be overkill for a lot of riders but if you are out there 100 days a year, love the backcountry and need a bombproof shell then go for this.
