Burton AK 2L Flare Down 2014 Review by The Good Ride

The Burton AK 2L Flare Down Jacket is incredibly expensive but if you find yourself mostly wearing a shell with a puffy underneath then this should call to you like you.  This is Burton’s bomber jacket and it’s not that often you find a puffy that has really solid waterproofing.

Ethics Statement: We don’t get paid by the manufacturer to write these reviews.  No one is perfect and we do make money from the “Where To Buy” links below, but this is our best attempt at an honest and objective review from an average riders’ perspective.

The articulating hood starts closer to the front of the collar so it covers more of your face and acts closer to a contoured hood. The warmth is exceptional and you don’t often see goose down in a snowboarding jacket.  It matches the quality of the higher end ski jackets and it’s not as bulky as the specs would suggest.
