DC Gizmo 2014 - 2013 Review by The Good Ride

The DC Gizmo is new for 2013 and has a schizophrenic set up on the upper an lower lacing set up.  It’s BOA for the bottom and traditional lace for the top.  It’s kind of weird to have the quick lacing convenience of Boa on the bottom and then slow lacing set up for the top.  It would be better to see the boot all boa but hey at least you get separate upper and lower adjustability. You also get a little more adjustability on the top of the boot than speed lace and BOA.  DC has a decent locking mechanism on the rungs of the upper boot so for those with picky upper needs here you go. To me, this is hybrid done right and it allows you solid adjustability as well as a locked in the heel as you get with many BOA boots. The DC Gizmo Snowboard Boot does a good job in terms of ride and it isn’t a bad choice if you want a responsive, reduced footprint, adjustable, locked in kind of ride.
