Weight: 2 oz when empty. The Katadyn BeFree is very lightweight. It can also double as your water bottle. So it is ultralight, and has multiple functions. Saving you space and weight in your pack. It is efficient enough at filtering water that you could use this as your only filtration device.

Packability: The BeFree bottle can pack down to almost nothing when it is empty, saving a ton of space when packing.

Durability: Paige has been using the Katadyn BeFree frequently for more than two months. She is happy with how durable it is, and hasn’t had any issues. It may not be as tough as the Grayl Ultralight Purifier, but it is always a trade off between being ultra durable and ultra lightweight.

Overall: The Katadyn BeFree is a very recommendable filtration bottle that has a long filter life, and is so simple and fast to filter water. It is efficient enough to refill hydration bags, stoves and anything else you may want to fill with water. It is able to filter 2 quarts / min.

The price is also very comparable and even more economic than other similar products out there. But the ability to filter up to 1,000 liters per filter makes the BeFree stand out from others.

The Katadyn BeFree 1 liter water filtration system allows you to roam through the wilderness without being weighed down by excess water. This ultralight filter is the perfect companion for a day out running in the mountains, a backpacking trip on the
coast, or even overseas travel.

This soft flask water filter is extremely efficient to use and stows away easily in your pack, hydration vest, or even pocket. The BeFree 1.0L only weighs 2 ounces, but has the capacity to filter up to 1000 liters. It can filter up to 2 liters of water per minute, so you get back to your adventure quickly.

The BeFree sports an EZ-clean Membrane filter. It is constructed of hollow fibers with a pore size of 0.1 microns. This technology is good to use for cloudy/murky water and it is effective against microorganisms – it removes 99.9% sediment, cysts, and bacteria.

The filter is extremely easy to clean and maintain. If the flow slows down, cleaning is a breeze – just swish or shake the EZ-clean Membrane filter with water in the flask and you are good to go. The bottle even gives you photo instructions of how to do this if you are faced with a clogged filter. The Katadyn BeFree is also ecofriendly – if you reach the end of your filters life, you can easily buy a replacement cartridge and reuse your soft flask.

This filter system is also PVC and BPA free.

The Katadyn BeFree is perfect for anyone seeking freedom on the trails but also is great to throw into your suitcase before traveling around the world. This filtration system is user-friendly, efficient, and lightweight. The BeFree allows you to focus on your
adventure ahead, knowing that you will always have clean water along the way.
