How This Review Happened: Steph owns this product.
Testers: Steph and Paige
Weight: 10.9 oz (309 g)
Packability: The Grayl Ultralight bottle can fit in any cup holder and will fit in most backpack water bottle pockets. It doesn’t compress down when not in use, but isn’t super bulky either.
Durability: This bottle is super durable. I have owned mine for a while now, and use it a lot. I traveled with this all around Asia for a few months. And I have used it on a regular basis for the past 6 months. I am also not super careful with my things and so far it has survived without a scratch.
Ease of Use: The Grayl bottle makes you work a little bit for your water. It is fairly fast to filter 16oz. It uses pressure to push the water through the filter, and can get a little difficult to push when the filter gets older. One filter can last up to 300 cycles, or 150 liters. This is significantly less than the Katadyn BeFree we checked out in the video. But they do have a zero wast recycling program for old cartridges which is awesome.
Overall: If you are looking for a super durable water filter bottle that can purify water for you anywhere you decide you are thirsty, the Grayl Ultralight Compact Purifier might be a good option. It is more expensive that some other similar products, but makes up for that in durability.
