Fit

The Feral 5/4/3 in Medium Tall was a bit tight for Peter’s specs but it worked. After a few days it molded really well to his body.really well. Peter was very curious about how the Large would fit since that is what he usually wears in most wetsuits. For me (James) I’m between a LS and XLS with most wetsuits and the XLS is just a touch too big. I have too much bat wing by my pits. I think the LS might be the right one but hard to say till I try it.

Freedom of Movement

So Peter did not paddle this in the ocean but paddled against the current at the river wave to see how it felt. For being a little tight and having such durable rubber, the Feral 5/4/3 paddled really well. It looks stiffer in the vid vs. how it actually feels in real life.

Construction

The construction is really well done. What is interesting is the Feral 5/4/3 looks almost the same inside as it does on the outside. The material is really smooth on the inside and it feels really good on the skin. This makes it quite rash free and pretty easy to get on/off. With soo many other suits out there that have all these interesting linings and so much tech going on I wondered at first why I’m paying this price for the wetsuit. The answer is in the Yamamoto Japanese rubber. From our experience it seems to be warmer, dries faster and most likely is more durabe than other wetsuits.

Follow up: I (James) recently got to try on one of these suits and when things get back in stock I’ll be getting a Feral 5/4/3 and maybe a 6/5/4 as well. So overall, Peter and I both felt Feral makes the kind of suit we want to own.
