Neck: 12.5″
Torso Length (collarbone to pant line) 18”

Weight

The Luzon Del Dia pack weighs 420g (.93lbs). It feels very light when you put it on, and the comfort level of this pack for being so lightweight is pretty impressive.

Packability

There is not rigid structure to the Luzon Del Dia pack. So you can smash it down pretty small for being a 24L day pack. It doesn’t get small enough to bring as an extra bag while backpacking, but I would shove this in a suitcase for travel, or car camping or whatever.

Durability

I only have a couple hikes in with this Del Dia pack, but it seems like it will last a good long while. The fabric is light but feels strong, and it seems well constructed too.

Capacity

The Luzon Del Dia has a 24L capacity. The compartments are large and you have plenty of room for stuffing bulky things if need be. There are few pockets but they are all roomy and easy to access. There’s a small zip pocket on the front, two large mesh pockets on the sides, an accessories pouch with a key clip (that fits sandwiches very well). There is a large zip compartment that is the full length of the bag. This pocket can easily fit a pair of shoes, or a laptop. There is also a water bladder pouch.

Functionality

There are many features that I really like on the Del Dia pack. The large side pouches, the hydration pouch, the huge zip compartment on the back. I really like the ease of use with the draw string too.

There are a couple things that are functional, but I feel like they could be improved:

1. The waist strap. This is a pretty thin strap that hit me at the belly button. It was uncomfortable to hike with so I didn’t even use it. It isn’t weight bearing and wouldn’t hold weight anyway with the small size of the straps. But it does do a good job of keep the pack in place and keeps it from swinging around.

2. The small velcro strap that keeps the water bladder in place. It doesn’t have a very strong closure and came open eventually when I was using it. It also is attached near the zipper, so it pulls down on the zipper when attached to a water bladder. This makes it difficult to zip and unzip the back pouch.

Overall

The Cotopaxi Luzon Del Dia pack is a unique colorful day pack full of features to make your hike enjoyable. I love that no two packs are the same, and that they use scraps from other projects to make each pack. The shoulder straps are very comfortable for being so lightweight, and the pockets are roomy to fit all your stuff. There are a few things that could be improved I feel to make this great pack an amazing pack. But if you are looking for a one of a kind day pack, this one could be a good one to check out.
