Canyon Cooler Outfitter 35 Review- How it camps and who it is for Review by The Good Ride

How This Canyon Cooler Outfitter 35 Review Happened

Canyon Cooler Outfitter 35 Review from The Good Ride

Precious Good Ride dollars were spent buying and reviewing this.

Days: Many. I’ve used this for 2 years so far and camped a lot in the summer with it.
Conditions: Lows in the 30’s-80s with highs in the 50’s-100’s

Ice Retention

I really didn’t want to get into a multiple-cooler test. Everyone else has done that and established that this is a leader in this size and price point. I will say that with several Cooler Shock medium and large ice packs, it stayed cold for over a day in hot (85-100f) weather and close to two days in medium weather. I don’t drink beer (I’m a liquor guy), so I only need a cooler for food.

Exterior Design

The shape of this cooler is what got me. I love modular packing because I own a smaller car and often camp with my wife and 2 kids in the summer. Whether I’m out at Mt. Hood doing some summer snowboarding or at Chelan surfing the City Wave, it’s nice to know it packs well enough to sleep in my car.

Interior Design

The Canyon Cooler Outfitter 35 has straight walls and is a true 35 on the inside. Most brands measure from the outside, so this cooler has a lot more interior space than most 40-qt coolers. The plug drains easily. I bought one basket to go with it, and it’s a nice accessory to have.

Durability

I’ve had this cooler for about two years, and so far, it’s holding up really well. The foam isn’t cracking or breaking down yet, and I was a bit concerned about that when I bought it. The latches don’t seem super strong, but I haven’t had any issues with those, either.

Conclusion

I’d love to have the longer ice retention of the Pro 45 or Mule 30, but this Canyon Cooler Outfitter 35 is better sized and shape for me and my family.
