The Good Ride Favorite All-Mountain Snowboards of 2024

Welcome to the most thorough and objective Top/Best/Favorite All-Mountain Snowboards of 2024 lists on the web by average but exceptionally knowledgeable riders.

Why Should You Trust The Good Ride Favorite All-Mountain Snowboards of 2024?

This Top/Best/Favorite All-Mountain Snowboards of 2024 List comes from me, James Biesty, and I’ve ridden about 800 different model boards. I also do same-day comparisons with the same boot, same binding, and often on the same run in a wide variety of conditions. This is a unique perspective because no other reviewer compares boards the way I do daily. As you can see from the riding, I’m no ripper, so this is very relatable to most average snowboarders out there.

There is also input from Davey, Peter, Nick, Zobel, Jimbo, and many of my friends who are camera-shy but give valuable help behind the scenes. This testing process isn’t easy, so hats off to these guys for lapping the same lifts and constantly going back to the car to change out boards!

Ethics Statement

This is NOT A PAY TO PLAY Favorites list. I don’t charge for this or demand to keep these boards or anything like that. They made this favorites list after extensive testing and comparing. Basically, these are the boards we want to take home and introduce to our parents. These boards stay favorites until another board unseats them.

What is an All-Mountain Snowboard to us?

The Good Ride 2024 All Mountian Favorite Snowboards

This is a true one-board quiver made to do almost everything. They are everything from a true twin to a slightly tapered directional ride. They can ride more centered and act like a Mountain Freestyle twin on groomers but can be set back to get more easy Freeride-like directional float in powder.

OK, let’s get to The Good Ride Favorite All Mountain Snowboards of 2024 or Best of or Top or whatever you want to call it.

Korua Otto $489

korua-otto-good-ride-low-cost-favorite

Positives/Swipe Right: Very Good Carver. Very good setback directional float for an all-mountain board. Damp in soft uneven snow. Good at high speeds.
Negatives/Swipe Left: On the stiffer side for all-mountain and a touch on the heavy side. Not the easiest to butter.

The Korua Otto comes at a very reasonable price these days, but it easily hangs with much higher-priced boards. I personally own this in a 157, and on paper, this more mid/wide size shouldn’t work for me, but it’s not bad. It does do better for mid/wide riders, but if you are okay with sacrificing easy turn initiation for a really satisfying turning experience with minimal heel/toe drag, this could be a fun ride. Man, can this carve hard. It rides pretty damp, has an easier float, and is more stable at speed than all on this list. It still has satisfying pop, too, that isn’t too hard to access. It’s not the best switch, but it’s still very doable.

Never Summer Cougar $619

never-summer-cougar-good-ride-favorites

Positives/Swipe Right: Very poppy without being chattery, which is super rare. So much pop for having early rise before the nose/tail. Fast base.
Negatives/Swipe Left: No small sizes.

I personally own this in a 156, and I would call this the sleeper in Never Summer’s line. All eyes are on the Fusion Tripple Camber, but this Recurve Tripple Camber technology is special. I think they figured out how to get the same spring and stability as full camber but still with a more forgiving, floaty ride. It carves incredibly well, ollies super easy but is still somewhat easy to butter. It’s more on the technical side, but it’s still far from a full camber feel. It’s probably the most poppy board on this list, but it still handles uneven snow incredibly well.

YES Standard Uninc $650

yes-standard-uninc-good-ride-favorite

Positives/Swipe Right: Near excellent grip. Very good, Carver. Pretty medium flex, so easy to ollie and butter for having a good bit of camber. One of my favorite all mtn pow rides.
Negatives/Swipe Left: More on the mid/wide side of the spectrum. Needs full-size discs to use the set-back inserts.

I personally own this in a 156 and even though it feels wider for me than most I just love taking this out to turn on good groomers as well as butter, ride switch and just have a good time. The centered stance and twin shape between the feet make this great for having a powerful mountain-freestyle twin on groomers. Then the set-back inserts and less surface area towards the tip of the tail make this feel almost like a tapered directional board in powder. The only problem for me is this is very wide over the inserts, so it’s a little more challenging in uneven snow. This is best for riders with bigger boots.

Jones Frontier $499

Positives/Swipe Right: Pretty Forgiving. Spoon nose feels great in powder. Fast base for this price point. Pretty strong grip. Good for going fast and being this forgiving.
Negatives/Swipe Left: Spoon tech can feel a touch washy in harder snow.

The Jones Frontier often gets pigeonholed as a beginner/intermediate board, but that is a load of horse shit. This feels more aggressive than the Jones Mtn Twin as well as the Ultra Mtn twin and I like the turning experience better. Its also more damp than the Stratos by a good bit. I think it carves much harder than its given credit for as well. This has a very fast base for this price point, has very solid directional float in powder, and very competent grip in harder snow. The spoon nose/tail makes the turning experience in soft snow to powder feel very smooth and fluid. This is well deserving of the Top/Best/Favorite All-Mountain Snowboards of 2024 list.

Cardiff Lynx $569

cardiff-lynx-good-ride-favorite

Positives/Swipe Right: Super easy to turn for this width. Just enough camber to have a great turning experience but not too much to be catchy. Very good powder float for an all-mountain board. Very easy to butter. Good in all conditions and damp for how soft it is.
Negatives/Swipe Left: A little on the softer side.

The Cardiff Lynx is such an easy-riding board that has a much more turny sidecut than its specs would lead you to believe. It rides narrower than it looks, too, and isn’t just for mid/wide boots.  It’s forgiving, has very competent edge hold, good but not great pop, and floats very well in powder. I’m really torn between the damper/faster Crane (honorable mention) and Lynx, but the more turny feel of the Lynx appealed to me a little bit more.

Ride Shadowban $549

Positives/Swipe Right: Fun switch. Great pow set back/float. Very forgiving, versatile ride. Pretty damp for this flex.
Negatives/Swipe Left: Not as much camber as other boards on this list. The Base is a touch on the slow side.

I find myself recommending this and the Ride Algoryhtym (another honorable mention) a lot. It’s such an easy board to ride. It’s very forgiving, has good pop, and rides really well centered/switch but can set back pretty far for an all-mountain board in powder to give you easier directional float.

Salomon Highpath $649

salomon-highpath-good-ride-favorite

Positives/Swipe Right: Easy flex. Great pop. Good setback on board. Easy switch for a few mm of taper.
Negatives/Swipe Left: Can be a little bucky/bouncy in soft uneven snow.

The Salomon Highpath has that same dynamic, playful, flex personality and what seems like a similar construction to the Dancehaul, and I think that is why I enjoyed this board so much. I could never get into the Assassin or Assassin Pro for one main reason. They just didn’t do well in uneven snow and passed the chatter up into your joints. This can buck and bounce you around a bit, but it is very manageable. It has great grip in harder snow, doesn’t grab in softer snow, has easy pop, butters easily, rides switch well, and sets back well for powder days. This is a very versatile one-board quiver.

YES Basic Uninc $549

yes-basic-uninc-hard-snow-favorite

Positives/Swipe Right: Top Notch Hard Snow Grip. Great Pop. Not full camber like they say. Very good directional float.
Negatives/Swipe Left: No 155. Can be a little bucky in softer uneven snow.

The Yes Basic Uninc is a true twin with set-back inserts for powder. It has a little less camber/more rocker is more forgiving than the Standard Uninc. Yes, they call it camber, but it isn’t true camber. It comes in a narrower and mid/wide width, grips like a champ, and pops really well. This is the best option on the list for those who see hard snow, like to ride switch a lot on groomers but want something you can set back in powder to get easier float.
