Flux TT 2015 - 2014 Review by The Good Ride
The Flux TT is the continuation of the TT30 and it still has that great all mountain to freestyle appeal at a very good price point. It’s not as stiff as it used to be and the high backs aren’t as tall but it still performs well appeals to a wide variety of riding styles.
Ethics Statement: We don’t get paid by the manufacturer to write these reviews. No one is perfect and we do make money from the “Where To Buy” links below, but this is our best attempt at an honest and objective review from an average riders’ perspective.
Days: 4
Riders: James, Peter Jimbo, Eli, Mary
Flex: The TT has a new lighter take on the old TT30 and to us, the flex feels a little bit softer than the old high back. Still, it feels medium-ish and supportive.
Adjustability: Same great adjustability as all mid to high-end Flux bindings. Tooless up top and tool needed at the disc. It’s very easy to dial out and the heel cup can be adjusted as well as the toe ramp which allows the binding to fit well every size boot in it’s range. It integrates very nicely with most boards and boots.
Comfort: Super comfortable. Very soft on the inside but supportive on the outside ankle strap. The toe and ankle strap don’t really cause pressure points for most riders.
Heel-Toe Response: Very good response that feels like it’s a little more than the DS and less than the SF. It’s got a good all mountain moderate turning board feel but it can handle semi-challenging turning boards as well without a problem and especially so if you don’t like stiff high backs. There is more edge to edge response than you would think if you are playing around with the binding in the shop.
Tip-Tail Response: There is a nice curve up at the sides of the binding that allow it to butter better than it should but the binding directly underfoot has a lot of contact underfoot. It would be fun to see Flux do something here to make the board feel a little more lively underfoot but it’s still a good binding to get a butter and press going.
Boot Support: Same great firm hold and feel. It’s like a nice hug from a careful giant woman. She’s strong but won’t squeeze your foot like Lenny does the rabbit. You feel secure and surrounded but not in danger of being squished…..don’t ask how I know this…
Ratchet System: Right there with the higher end ratchet systems in Flux’s line. It’s not super smooth but it never catches or gets stuck. It cranks down and releases very well.
Shock Absorption: This is our one real issue with the Flux TT. It just doesn’t have the shock absorption that most competitors have and to us, that is a bit of a problem. It has more of a skate feel than a snowboard feel. We’d like to see the heel plate go to soft urethane combined with EVA foam so it’s still adjustable but isn’t that hard nylon base anymore. It would really change up the ride and make this a practically perfect binding.
Despite the lack of shock absorption, the Flux TT is a great binding that offers a really solid almost high-end ride at a very affordable price.

very reliable binding
Value for the money! I chose this binding because I had limited money left after I bought my libtech trs.. Did not know what to expect. It turned out to be a great binding. Excellent power ttansmission, light weight, easy adjustment, and snug fit to the boot. Holds boots veyr well. I think it is because of the straps that connect to the baseplate form the inside. normally straps coennetc to the binding fromt he outside leaving a gap between the boot and the binding. Oh not to mention that the seller told me there is lifetime warranty on the base plates.
