Union Asadachi 2013 - 2011 Review by The Good Ride

The Union Asadachi is a combination of other Union binding parts put together to make another Union binding.  It has the older (2011 & below) Union Force SL High back and the Union Force baseplate which isn’t that special now because the 2012  and 2013 Union Force SL has a new baseplate and high back.

What we do like is the addition of the new assymetrical ankle strap and improved over the toe strap.  The toe strap provides better grip and the ankle strap provides better all around support.  What we don’t like is the Union Force base plate that is long overdue for an upgrade.  The old union force sl high back isn’t bad at all but the newer high back has a better all around feel.  We feel that this is a great binding but for the price you would be better off with either the 2012 or 2013 Union Force SL or the Union Atlas because you get all of the new tech and not just some.  To us the Asadachi is just a combination of older parts with a new ankle strap.  One thing to mention for all Union bindings is the toe strap can be a little sticky and problematic for some. After it breaks in this issue lessens but we wish Union would make the Toe Strap more like their Ankle strap which is perfect.
