Summary
The Jones Women's Mind Expander is strongly recommend it for anyone looking for a fast turning super easy floating board for the deep deep. Don't let the centered stance fool you. The set back on board is really far back so the directional float is incredible.Where To Buy

Jones Women's Mind Expander Snowboard Written Review Review by The Good Ride
The Jones Women’s Mind Expander would be a great board to have around just waiting for that perfect powder day to charge, but it would also be fun to have around for those early morning groomers, or when you want to take a slightly different approach to the mountain than your everyday rider.
The 2024 Jones Women’s Mind Expander comes with a set-back hybrid camber profile. It has a mellow positive camber between the feet, and rocker on the nose and tail. Jones calls it the Surf Camber Profile. The updated profile does change the way the Mind Expander rides a bit, but it still has incredible float and a surfy ride. The added positive camber adds a bit of stability and edge control while riding.

Size: 142
Days: 10+
Conditions: A lot of different conditions, but mostly powder, nice groomers, off piste fresh snow and choppy snow
Riders: Steph and Paige
Boots: Vans Ferra Pro
Insoles: Footprint Insole Technology Gameghangers Low Profile
Bindings: Union Legacy
Set Up: 21” Centered 15 front -15 back
Sizes Available: 142, 146, 150
Flex/Buttering
Not really a board made for buttering, the Women’s Mind Expander just wants to get things done! But it is a reverse camber profile so that helps you out a little. It’s got a medium stiff flex so it’s not that easy to get off the ground when buttering. It is a 6/10 on the Jones scale.
On Snow Feel
Semi stable, it’s not locked in much because of the full reverse camber, but the Mind Expander feels really stable when you are charging. Not too squirrely on a flat base either, but you do get a little of that back and forth squishy movement when skating.
Edge Hold
Jones did a great job with this. I was really surprised at the edge hold this had on the ice. I rode it down one of the worst runs in Mammoth and it held its edge the whole time, I felt really secure making turns on ice which is huge for a reverse camber board. The Mind Expander comes with Jones’. Traction Tech 1.0. There is a slight wave in the sidecut that allows for added connection points while riding on ice.
Turn Initiation
Quite fast and fluid to turn on this board, you don’t really notice how long the nose is at all. Edge to edge is really easy too.
Turning Experience
Super fun! It really is a “Mind Expander“. It’s not really for short dynamic turns, more for the extended cruisey turning. Fun to make those slashy turns on side hits or whatever or just cruise.
Carving
I found it pretty nice to carve for a reverse camber board, it doesn’t get super locked in but you can lay it over if you want.
Speed
Feels great going fast, is super easy to get up to speed, and stays stable as well.
Uneven Terrain
The Mind Expander is good at charging through or over bumpy cruddy snow, but I wouldn’t enjoy trying to quick turn through big bumps on this board.
Powder
The Women’s Mind Expander has become a good ride powder favorite for a very good reason. It has a centered stance, but the set back on board is massive, and it is tapered, and the drawn out rocker doesn’t allow the nose to sink on even the deepest of days. Because it is so good at floating, you can charge hard, or just cruise around in the powder. The choice is yours. Powder is where the Mind Expander really thrives.
Switch
Not really made for riding switch, but it is doable. You can pivot the board around in tight spots and it is fairly easy to ride switch if needed.
Freestyle
This is a “fun” oriented board. So it is definitely into taking creative lines, drops and weird natural features. Super fun to slash some quarter pipe walls with, or mess around on the groomer. It isn’t ideal for the traditional freestyle environment but don’t let that keep you from getting creative.
Conclusion
The Jones Women’s Mind Expander is a board for many different riders. This board doesn’t really fit in one tiny box. It is an approachable directional freeride board that allows for an intermediate rider to enjoy an interestingly shaped board. The Women’s Mind Expander is an amazing powder board that can shred open bowls and tight trees alike. This board is stable and quick to turn at high speeds, but also allows for slow speed slashing in different environments. The Mind Expander is a fun inspiring ride that allows you to let your guard down a bit and experience the mountain for what it is.

Switch: Not really made for riding switch, but it is an interesting thing to do if you get bored.
Jumps: Fun on jumps and drops. It’s not your traditional feeling freestyle board, but it’s not meant to be. Would enjoy it more on natural type features rather than the park.
Jibbing: The Mind Expander isn’t made for jibbing, but hey why not. This board is made to be ridden creatively so it’s totally up to you. It has rocker throughout so it rides pretty loose and forgiving. It is super directional, so watch out for the nose!
Pipe: Could take it in the pipe, it’s got great edge hold, and is really stable. Maneuvering the nose around the pipe could get interesting. Would be a fun wall slasher.
