How This Review Happened: We had a few laps at a frantic manic demo day.

Set-Up: 21.5” Wide. 18 front -3 back. Close to Reference.

Approximate Weight

Feels normal.

Sizing

We wish they made a 151 or 150 and thought they had a smaller size at the time of the review. They only have the 154 for 2020 and 2021.

Camber/On Snow Feel/Ability Level/Skidded Turns

The Gnu Fun Guy has a tapered directional shape with almost full camber from the tail to just a little bit of early rise before the nose. In the middle there is a passive rocker that doesn’t touch the snow.

Flex/Pop/Buttering

Pretty medium-stiff between the feet but mediumish in the tip/tail. It was very doable for us to butter with some effort. There is lots of pop and the Fun Guy seems to take most of the good properties of a wood core and accentuate them.

Speed

The Gnu Fun Guy can do a great job when it comes to pointing it. The base isn’t the fastest we have tried but it for sure has an upper-end glide to it that we liked. Thanks to the width, It’s very stable for a 154.

Uneven Terrain

It’s short but not so short that its bucky powering over uneven snow. The Gnu Fun Fuy isn’t vibration-free going over micro bumps but it’s pretty good.

Edge Hold

Great ride for those that see hard to icy snow.

Turn Initiation

The Gnu Fun Guy is pretty slow edge to edge but once you get the sidecut engaged it turns a pretty normal sized circle.

Turning Experience/Carving

The Gnu Fun Guy kept all that we like about the Mullairs turning/carving experience and just put it into a short/wide package. It carves really well and has a good spring out of every kind of turn you make.

Powder

No powder to speak of but it seems like it will do pretty well when set all the way back.
