How This Review Happened: The company sent us this board to do an extended demo, and we returned it.

Approximate Weight

It felt medium to medium heavy. But it is hard to say how accurate that is since it was way too big for me.

Flex

This board has a 4/5 on the Decathlon scale (felt like an 8/10 to me). It is very stable and pretty stiff all around.

On Snow Feel

The board feels very stable when flat based and very locked in when on edge (the camber is pretty pronounced). Feels a little catchy at slow speeds, but the real personality comes out at higher speeds.

Edge Hold

Great edge hold in turns as well as hard to icy conditions. This board stays connected to the snow.

Turn Initiation

This one is hard to judge when the board is too big. At slow speeds this board is pretty difficult to turn. When I finally got it up to speed, I was surprised at how easy it turned for me. You have to let this board know who is boss even if it is your size, but it responds quickly and accurately if you give it the right directions.

Turning Experience

Pretty good as long as I was making more carve turns than skidded turns, and as long as I was cruising pretty quickly down the mountain.

Skidded Turns

Not very easy due to the amount of camber this board has, and the stiff flex. It prefers open carve turns to skidded turns.

Carving

Very fun to carve, especially when you are fully committing and cruising fast down the hill. The side cut seems to go for days, so you can make the turns as long and drawn out as you want.

Powder

We didn’t have powder, but I assume it would be a pretty fun board on a deep powder day. The long nose along with the taper should help out a lot.

Speed

Give it all you got! This board was very stable at higher speeds, it prefers to go fast and take chances.

Uneven Terrain

If the snow is soft I would take this off piste no problem, but when I took it off piste in firm bumpy snow it wasn’t my favorite. I think in powder chunder it would be stable and just charge through.

Switch

Nah….I rides switch if you make it, but it doesn’t like it. There is a big ol’ nose on this board and it is tapered so it’s gonna feel weird.

Jibbing

Nope, no thank you.

Pipe

Might do ok in the pipe if it was half the size for me. But wouldn’t be my first choice.

Jumps

If you want to rocket into the air this could send you there. Not forgiving or ideal for jumps, but as a whole lot of pop and snap.

Overall

The Decathlon Bullwhip 700 Dreamscape would be good for an advanced to expert rider who wants to ride fast and aggressive all over the mountain. This board is great at carving large radius, deep carve turns and cruising down the hill at high speeds. Would be nice if they offered it in smaller sizes since it is listed as a men’s and women’s board on their site. They do suggest you size up for this board, but not many women need a 160cm. I think if it was my accurate board length I would have had a lot of fun on this.
