Positives

  • Thick & Warm For A Shell
  • Great Construction & Pockets
  • Pretty Baggy

Negatives

  • Pretty Baggy

Summary

The Volcom Brighton Pullover is on the baggy side but is very flattering and has been an Anorak we have loved for years. It's a jacket I've owned and used when the weather was on the drier side.

Fit

On the baggy side for sure but still very flattering for my build and 44″ chest.

Construction

Very good construction but that is expected from Volcom.

Waterproofing/Breathability

The waterproofing is pretty doable for most. I felt like it did a little better in wet weather than many 10k jackets so that’s a plus but it still pales in comparison to full on Gore-Tex. This is pretty thick so it’s not that breathable. I like that thought because it’s pretty warm for a shell and it blocks cold winds pretty well.

Hood/Helmet Compatibility

Great helmet/hood compatibility with the Volcom Brighton Pullover.

Cuff/Glove Compatibility

It is a great over-the-glove kind of cuff.

Pit Zips

I’m not into the mesh for the pit zips, but it is pretty dense, so it doesn’t allow snow in. Conversely, it doesn’t breathe as easily.

Pockets

There are enough pockets to make this a functional all-day jacket.

Powder Skirt

Yep, there is a pow skirt, and it can zip into any Volcom pant or bib to keep snow out. It’s a pretty cool feature despite the fact it’s proprietary.

Volcom Brighton Pullover Past Reviews

The Volcom Brighton Pullover is an anorak style piece with a lot of interesting features. It’s very warm for a shell and at a decent price point for Volcom but they make really good stuff.
