Quiksilver Travis Rice GORE-TEX Infinium Jacket 2023 Review by The Good Ride

Swipe Right: Great price point for Gore-Tex. Light for having fleece insulation.

Swipe Left: New and relatively untested outside the brand.

The Travis Rice GORE-TEX Infinium jacket has a new and unique 1 outer Gore-Tex layer with a fleece liner that still feels like a shell. It is a very different design compared to other Gore-Tex jackets and it comes at a reasonable price.

A big thanks to Gravity Sports at Mt Bachelor for giving us access to this.

Travis Rice GORE-TEX® Infinium Snowboard Jacket Review: How It Fits

How This Review Happened:  Borrowed this for an extended demo and sent it back. 1 day demo. A few laps at a demo. Liked it so much, asked to keep it (only do this with favorites).  Liked it so much we bought it.  Precious Good Ride dollars were spent to buy this and review it.

The fit is pretty middle ground. Not to baggy or too tight and very flattering on the shoulders. The Travis Rice GORE-TEX Infinium jacket has that Arcteryx style flattering shoulder cut but for snowboarders.

This GORE-TEX Infinium construction is unique. It is basically one layer with a layer of fleece on the inside. It is not a typical 2 Layer or 3 Layer Gore-Tex Jacket. It is one layer plus fleece so it’s almost not even 2 layers. It feels very light which doesn’t usually happen when you have this much fleece. Very interesting!

I’ve never tried Gore-Tex Infinium so it is hard to say how this compares to regular Gore-Tex. My initial thoughts are that it isn’t as good as 2 Layer or 3 Layer Gore-Tex. However I could be very wrong and you never know till you go.

Hood/Helmet Compatibilty

The hood on this large Travis Rice GORE-TEX Infinium jacket worked well enough around my Medium smith Maze Helmet but a large would probably be too big.

Cuff/Glove Compatibility

The cuffs are weird but functional. They go over my gloves well.

Pit Zips

Love the open pit zips on the Travis Rice GORE-TEX Infinium jacket

Like the pocket layout of the Travis Rice GORE-TEX Infinium jacket. It has 2 skin pockets for uphill travel which is uncommon with most jackets that just have goggle pockets. Then you have all you need on the outside. A media/phone pocket, two hand warmer pockets and a pass pocket. It has all you need for uphill travel and resort riding. Very cool.

Powder Skirt

Fixed pow skirt with jacket to pant interface happening here.

So this review is all about fit and functionality. The Travis Rice GORE-TEX Infinium jacket has a very flattering fit and very functional pockets for uphill travel or resort riding so that is great. I’d love to test this on the hill but Jackets are not as easy to come by as boards, boots and bindings.
