The Good Ride 2025 Favorite All-Mountain Snowboards
Welcome to an unpaid, unbiased, in-depth breakdown of The 2025 All Mountain Favorite Snowboards from The Good Ride. I’m James Biesty, and I’ve ridden over 800 different snowboard models, and about 1,0000 if you count the different versions of the same models. I try to extensively test each board in various conditions and own six pairs of Union Forces to make it easy for same-day comparisons. I’m no ripper, but I’m consistent and have an exceptional snowboard gear memory. No one else compares boards like I do, so this Best All Mountain Snowboard List comes from a much more accurate perspective than most.
This Is No Pay To Play Top/Best Of/Favorite All-Mountain Snowboard List
I don’t charge the brands to make this list, require them to keep the boards, or allow any outside influence. These boards earned their Best/Top/Favorite spot strictly by how they ride, and I did a lot of testing and comparing to create this list. These are the boards I would love to own personally, and I recommend the most.
What is an All-Mountain Snowboard to The Good Ride?
An All Mountain Snowboard is a normal width and length board with minimal or no taper. This is one board quiver that rides pretty centered on groomers and is good to great switch. But, unlike mountain freestyle twins, you can set it back in powder to get easier float. If you want something more Directional, Tapered, and Set back with better float in powder, check out the Freeride, Alt Freeride, Short Wide, and Snowsurf Favorites. Also, check our Lower Cost All Mountain Favorites.

Here Is The Good Ride’s 2025 Favorite All-Mountain Snowboards List
Almost all of the riding footage was filmed with my Insta360 One X4 or One X3 Cameras.
Cardiff Crane $699
(All Ability Level/Do Everything Ride)
Ability Level
Committed Beginners to Expert
Positives/Swipe Right
Great Switch, Solid Grip, Fast Base, and Good Directional Float. Very Consistent feel in all conditions.
Negatives/Swipe Left
A Little Bucky in Soft, Uneven Snow. I wish there is some carbon in the construction to help maintain the flex and pop. I wish the Top Sheet Were More Durable.
The Cardiff Crane made the 2025 All Mountain Favorite Snowboards list because it’s a forgiving but fun and versatile ride in all conditions. It’s a great board for riding switch/centered on groomers, but it can set back pretty well in powder. You can go just about anywhere and do anything with this ride. When I got this to test, I kept riding it even when I was done testing.
If you fit a 158 or 162, you can go with Crane Pro Carbon and get a stiffer damper and a more energetic ride. I don’t have a review up, but I rode it, and it’s a super fun aggressive All-Mountain beast. If you want something a little more playful, more turny with a tapered but surfy twin vibe and a little better float, check out the Lynx. It was a favorite last year, and it’s still very recommendable. Especially those that want something more floaty and forgiving.
Shape
Slightly Tapered (1-3mm), it is Directional but feels like a directional twin. It is great for Switch Riding.
Stance Locations
-15mm/.6” on Sidecut @ 56cm/22”
-6cm/-2.375” on Board @ 56cm/22” With an Easy Directional or Centered Float that sits on top of powder easily.
Camber
This hybrid Camber (65% Camber/35% Rocker) is stable, Forgiving, and has a good float.
Flex Personality
Medium, Easy to Butter, With Good Pop. This is a decent all-day ride but can be a little bucky in soft, uneven snow.
Sidecut/Edge Hold
A small but very effective disruption near the end of the camber at each insert. Very competent in hard snow and fairs well on ice.
Turning Experience
Medium to Medium/Quick. Balanced Turning Radius. It has a good spring out of a turn and is pretty fun to carve.
Speed
Great on a Straight Line into a jump and good around the mountain.
Base
Very fast
Capita Black Snowboard Of Death $699
(Forgiving but Poppy)
Ability Level
Intermediate to Expert
Positives/Swipe Right
Damper than most Capita Boards. Fast Base. Improved set back on board in powder. Pretty forgiving. Great pop and flex personality.
Negatives/Swipe Left
Not the Best in hard-to-icy snow. Base Has Too Much Structure.
The Capita, Black Snowboard Of Death, has always been a pretty recommendable board, but it made the 2025 All Mountain Favorite Snowboards List because it now has a much better setback on board for easier float in powder. It went from -1.875″ to -2.5″ back from the center of the board when set all the way back. That extra directional float rounded out the BSOD and helped bring this to the favorites list. The flat section near the tail pops well on an ollie but doesn’t spring as well out of a turn. It’s still a pretty satisfying turner though. It’s got a pretty forgiving feel, and I found myself really enjoying this ride in all conditions.

Shape
Directional with 1.5mm of taper. Almost not tapered.
Stance Locations
-0.5” on Sidecut @ 22”
-2.5” on Board @ 22” if you measure from the mellow point in the middle but more from the sides, it offers very good directional float.
Camber
Complicated Directional Camber. Camber between the inserts, Flat to a little kick before the tail, and a good bit of early rise before the nose. Pretty Forgiving but very stable/consistent in all conditions with easy float.
Flex Personality
It’s medium but never stops flexing with dynamic Pop, especially on an ollie. It has some carbon and other tech that really improves the pop, but the faux wood top sheet, sidewalls, and other dampening tech help balance this out to make it a good all-day ride. It’s still a little bucky in soft, thick, uneven snow, but it’s better than any other Capita Board I’ve tried.
Sidecut/Edge Hold
1.5mm Bump in the middle on each edge. Medium bordering on Hard Snow, but I wouldn’t call this a hard snow specialist.
Turning Experience
It has Medium/Quick Turn Initiation, a Balanced Turning Radius and good Spring Out of the turn.
Speed
It’s not bad if you want to point it out, but it’s far from being a full-on bomber. You can straight line into a kicker of any size though and point most moderate runs without a single issue.
Base
Very Fast but with a lot of structure that can feel a little grabby with
United Shapes Horizon $599
(Most Versatile/Best In Pow With Full Sized Discs)
Ability Level
Intermediate-Expert
Positives/Swipe Right
Incredible Directional Float for an all-mtn board/best on this list. Nice pop. It’s a very good switch for its shape. Fast Base. Feels like you have 2 boards.
Negatives/Swipe Left
You need Full-size Discs to get that float. Feels a little heavy.
The United Shapes Horizon made this 2025 All Mountain Favorite Snowboards list because it’s arguably the most versatile all-mountain boards I’ve ever tried. The setback on board is more than most freeride boards. But, If you set it up on reference stance, it almost feels like a directional twin with solid pop, a fast base, and a very centered ride. This and the Cadet, a Freeride Favorite, are truly special boards, and the only place they don’t truly shine is pretty hard to icy snow.
Shape
Tapered Directional with 4mm of taper
Stance Locations
Unpublished but feels centered On Sidecut @ 22.25”
-4.375” on board @ 22.25”
Camber
A Hybrid Camber with some early rise before the nose and tail, it’s stable and forgiving.
Flex Personality
Medium, Easy to Butter, With Good Pop and a Mellow Carbon Stringer. Great All-Day Ride
Sidecut/Edge Hold
Borderline Hard Snow. No disruption. Not the best if you see lots of hard snow.
Turning Experience
Fast Turn Initiation for its width, Balanced Turning Radius, and Solid Spring Out of the Turn. Feels Centered on Reference and Surfy Set Back
Speed
It is great for straight-lining into a kicker and not bad for pointing it down most moderate-length/steepness runs.
Base
Pretty Fast
Nitro Alternator $579
(Best Go Big Full Camber/Technical Directional Board)
Ability Level
Committed Advanced to Expert
Positives/Swipe Right
Almost Exceptional Full Camber Pop for carves and air. Great in hard and soft uneven snow. Good float for full camber.
Negatives/Swipe Left
Very Technical/Unforgiving
The Nitro Alternator made the 2025 All Mountain Favorite Snowboards list because of its almost uncompromising pop and dampness while still being decent in pow for this much camber. What a trip down memory lane to the old full camber days in the best way possible. Yes, it’s very unforgiving and will slam you if you get off your game, but man, is it fun to turn and get air with. There is pretty good edge hold as well. The base isn’t all-time, but it’s not a deal breaker. I was surprised how well it floats in powder for a full camber ride. Nitro did it right by giving it such a long nose. What is cool is the Alternator rides switch really well, too. This isn’t for everyone, but those it’s for will absolutely love it.

Tapered Directional with 6mm of taper and a long nose.
Stance Locations
-15mm/-0.6”mm On Sidecut @ 22”
-3.065” on Board @ 22”
Camber
Full-On Unforgiving Camber, but there is a lot of nose and a little tail to give this much better float than expected when it’s set all the way back.
Flex Personality
Mediumish With Excellent Pop. It’s not easy to butter. Very damp/chatter resistant All Day/all condition Ride
Sidecut/Edge Hold
Medium to Hard Snow with a slight disruption near each binding.
Turning Experience
Medium/Quick, Balanced with amazing spring out of the turn.
Speed
Pretty Fast
Base
Upper tier but needs waxing a lot.
Never Summer Cougar $649
(Best Pop/Carver With Early Rise)
Ability Level
Committed Intermediate to Expert
Positives/Swipe Right
Very poppy without being chattery which is super rare. So much pop for having early rise before the nose/tail—fast base.
Negatives/Swipe Left
No small sizes. Feels More Locked In when riding pow.
The Never Summer Cougar made the 2025 All Mountain Favorite Snowboards List because it has more pop than almost any all-mountain board with early rise I’ve tried. I personally own the Never Summer Cougar in a 156 and love it. I would call this, and the 2025 Mtn Freestyle Favorite Proto Ultra are the sleepers in Never Summer’s line. All eyes are on the Fusion Tripple Camber, but this Recurve Tripple Camber technology is special. I think they figured out how to get the same spring, stability, and overall feel as full camber but still give you a more forgiving, floaty ride. It carves incredibly well, ollies super easy but is still somewhat easy to butter. It’s more on the technical side but it’s still far from a full camber feel. It’s probably the most poppy board on this list, but it still handles uneven snow incredibly well.

YES Standard Uninc $599
(Mid/Wide Favorite. Best Switch, Easy Float, Great Grip & For Full Size Discs)
Ability Level
Committed Intermediate To Expert
Positives/Swipe Right
Near excellent grip. Very good Carver. Pretty medium flex so easy to ollie and butter for having a good bit of camber. One of my favorite all mtn pow rides.
Negatives/Swipe Left
More on the mid/wide side of the spectrum. Needs full size discs to use the set back inserts.
The YES Standard Uninc made the 2025 All Mountain Favorite Snowboards list because it is a very versatile one-board quiver with lots of pop but is still easy to butter, ride switch, and ride pow. I own this in a 156 and even though it feels wider for me than most I just love taking this out. This is a great, powerful mtn freestyle twin on groomers. Then, the setback inserts and less surface area towards the end of the tail make this feel almost like a tapered directional board in powder. The only problem for me is this is very wide over the inserts, so it’s a little more challenging to turn in uneven snow or tighter spots. This is best for riders that have feet best for mid/wide to wide boards.

Camber
Mostly Camber but not super technical/catchy.
Flex Personality
The softer side of Medium With Great Pop. Soft/not chunder buster, but not a bucky ride, either. Great All Day Ride
Sidecut/Edge Hold
Aggressive Indentions inside the bindings. Great in Hard Snow and Competent in Icy Snow.
Turning Experience
Quick if sized right. The Turny Side is Balanced with an almost old-school full camber spring out of the the turn.
Speed
Sidecut likes to go straight, but flex isn’t great for full-on bombing.

The Good Ride 2025 Hard Snow Favorite Snowboards
YES Basic Uninc $549
(Hard Snow Twin)
Ability Level
Advanced To Expert
Positives/Swipe Right
Very Competent Hard Snow Grip. Great Pop. Not full camber like they say. Very good directional float.
Negatives/Swipe Left
No 155. Needs Full Size Discs to Use Set Back Inserts
The Yes Basic Uninc made the 2025 All Mountain Favorite Snowboards because it is an excellent true twin with set back inserts that works in hard snow and can still hang in powder. It has a little less camber/more rocker is more forgibving than the Standard Uninc, Yes they call it camber but it isn’t true camber. It comes in a narrower and mid/wide width, initiates a turn really fast, grips like a champ, rides switch super well, and pops very easy on an ollie. This is the best option on the list for those that see hard snow, like to ride switch a lot on groomers but want something you can set back in powder to get easier float.

Sidecut/Edge Hold
Almost Full Mag (7 contact points per edge) with near excellent hard to icy snow grip.
Turning Experience
Quick initiation. Balanced with lots of spring out of the turn.
Speed
Great for any sized kicker, but not a full-on bomber. Sidecut doesn’t fight you.
Base
Medium/Fast Glide
Lib Tech Dynamo $569
(Hard Snow Directional)
Ability Level
Advanced To Expert
Positives/Swipe Right
Very Competent Hard Snow Grip. Great Pop. Very fun to turn with. Great for getting air.\
Negatives/Swipe Left
Pretty Technical/Catchy. Base is better but still not as fast as some of it’s peers. Float isn’t there vs. some of it’s peers.
The Lib Tech Dynamo made the 2025 All Mountain Favorite Snowboards List because it grips very well but also is a very fun board to ride. It has s a board that has a lot of camber and a very old school feel that gives you a ton of grip, springs hard out of the turn and ollies super easy. This is a very good directional alternative to the YES Basic Uninc for those that don’t ride switch as much but love to carve in all conditions. The 2025 Dynamo has the same specs between the feet but a new blunt nose with more surface area vs. the pointy it had before.

Medium throughout with Excellent Pop. More work to butter. A touch bucky in soft, uneven snow but overall a Great All Day Ride
Sidecut/Edge Hold
Almost Full Mag with excellent hard-to-icy snow grip. Grabs a little in soft snow.

Pretty good at speed for this category.
