Never Summer Breezy Rider Snowboard Written Review Review by The Good Ride
Ethics Statement: We don’t get paid by the manufacturer to write these reviews. We do make money from the “Where To Buy” links, but this is our best attempt at an honest and objective review from an average rider’s perspective.
How This Review Happened: We were sent this for an extended demo and returned it.
Size: 146
Days: 4+
Conditions: Hard pack, mid winter conditions, spring ice and spring slush conditions
Riders: Steph
Boots: Vans Luna (7.5)
Bindings: Union Women’s Ultra (M)
Sizes: 142, 145, 148, 150
Camber Profile
The Breezy Rider comes with Never Summer’s triple camber profile. Yes, 3 separate positive camber zones throughout the board. One in between the feet, and two on either side of both bindings.
This profile acts a little differently than most Never Summer boards. The flex pattern feels a bit more like a traditional camber flex pattern. And instead of easily twisting from the center of the board (like most hybrid rocker boards do) this board feel a bit stiffer underfoot when turning.
The edge grip with the 3 positive camber zones is pretty insane, and it does really well in very icy conditions.
It has great grip for high edge angle carves, steep terrain, and even the half pipe.
Flex
This board comes with a medium to soft flex. Although it feels softer on the nose and tail then right in the middle of the board.
Flexible enough to ride the park and play around on. But it still is fairly stable when riding through bumps and chunder.
Asym Twin
The Breezy Rider is an asymmetrical twin. This means the sidecut on the heel side is different from the toe side. It rides great switch and regular. And the different heel side sidecut improves heel side carves and edge hold.
Board Personality
The Never Summer Breezy Rider has a high intermediate to advanced freestyle personality. It has a mix of being playful and also very technical. It has great pop off of jumps but is also friendly enough for boxes and rails.
The Breezy Rider also has enough stability to shred all mountain. It is a great board for bringing freestyle type riding to the entire mountain. It is reliable enough for steep terrain, fun to carve, and has very good edge hold in icy conditions.
