Summary
The Garden Ragamuff is a tapered directional, camber-dominant snowboard. It is designed for bigger riders and will be a great option for people who are looking for a less aggressive option to the classic extra stiff plus-sized boards.Where To Buy

Sizing
The 165cm Garden Ragamuff fit me perfectly. I am 6’3.5” 245lbs with a size 12 boot. The board was wide enough that I had no toe or heel drag. It didn’t feel slow edge-to-edge like some wide boards can.
Shape
The shape is tapered and directional. There’s a good bit of taper here at 70 millimeters. It felt pretty centered underfoot and not as set back or as tapered as you would expect when it was on snow.
Camber/On Snow Feel/Ability Level
The Garden Ragamuff has a dominant camber from tip to tail with slight early rises in the nose and tail. Not enough to add noticeable float.
Edge Hold
As long as you don’t need an ice specialist, the Garden Ragamuff will be a good option. It grips well for not having a disruption in the side cut. I would say it’s pretty middle of the pack. Wasn’t too grippy, wasn’t washy.
Flex Personality
The Garden Ragamuff isn’t too stiff, but it has a good amount of stiffness. It’s right where it needs to be to handle the bigger riders this board is designed for. This board has good pop and spring out of the turn that allows the board to retain a playful personality.
Uneven Snow
I found this board to be a little more shock-absorbent than the Kazak. It does a good job of staying damp enough to charge over different types of uneven snow surfaces.
Speed
This board is a little on the turny side for a straight liner but you can straight line on this no problem. The stiffer flex and good shock absorption allows you to feel comfortable charging at high speed.
Base Glide
The Garden Kazak has a middle of the pack base glide. This board is not slow by any means. It’s just not going to blow your socks off or win any races, but it’s also not going to be noticeably slow, either. The base held onto the wax well.
Turning Experience/Carving
The Garden Ragamuff jammed on groomers. The full camber definitely plays into how well it turns on hard pack. It has a nice spring out the tail. I loved it when I laid into an edge and felt it flex and boost me out of a turn into a higher gear.
Powder
If you set this board all the way back at a 22.5-inch stance width, you will get a -6.25-inch set back on board, which is good. The camber plays into this, though, and it doesn’t get as good of float as you would expect for that much setback on board. Subsequently, I found this board to be a little bit of a backleg burner, especially once I got into the ten inch to a foot, foot and a half territory. However, take that with a grain of salt. That’s Mount Bachelor, where it’s a little flatter than most resorts. And we need that extra early rise to float through some flatter spots. So if you’re riding steeper terrain, this board will be good for you
Park/Freestyle
The Garden Ragamuff is poppy. I had a good time riding around and popping off of stuff on it. The Kazak is better for jumping though. I wish I could have gone through more park features, but unfortunately, the tide was too low on Mt. Bachelor so I didn’t have any available at the time of reviewing.
Final Thoughts
I’m thoroughly impressed by Garden. I don’t think I’ve seen many first run snowboard companies have as high of a quality product. This board is definitely worth its price tag.
Once I got on this board, I wanted to compare it to the Lib Tech skunk ape, another classic big guy board that I’ve ridden in the past. And if I was doing apples to apples, the Ragamuff rides how I hoped the Skunk Ape would for my personality. This board’s a little easier to control. A lot of bigger boards that are designed for bigger riders end up being extra stiff and more aggressive. This board is easy to handle and comfortable, and I think it’s a really good option for a lot of bigger guys, especially ones that fluctuate how aggressively they like to ride. You can turn it up to a hundred, or take some casual laps all the same on the Ragamuff.
