Borrowed this for a 1 day demo and gave it back.
Size: 170cm/ 5’7”
Days: 1
Conditions: Pretty good spring conditions. Wish I had some pow for this though…

Approximate Weight

The Elevated Surf Craft Megafish was pretty heavy overall but on the normal side for its length. (We don’t put in the exact weight because with wood cores there is no consistency in a boards weight)

Sizing

The Elevated Surf Craft Megafish is a pretty big and wide board but I still felt pretty good riding this with size 9’s but I would keep it around 11 to get the benefit of all that float for a board like this. It is fine for my weight too.

Here are some ideal US boot sizes for these boards. You can of course go bigger or smaller but these work best for not turning the board slower than it should be and not having the dreaded Toe & Heel Drag.
170- 9-11

Shape/Camber/On Snow Feel/Ability Level

The Elevated Surf Craft Megafish is a pretty big board at 170cm but you ride this way back towards the swallow tail. This is what I call surfy because your feet are at about the same place they would be on a surfboard in the water. You want to set this up more posi but like most Elevated Surf Craft boards it won’t balk at you if you ride it slightly duck.

The camber is flat between the bindings with a little early rise before the tail and a good bit before that big ass nose. It is a pretty forgiving ride for its size.

Flex Personality

You have a pretty stiff tail, stiff waist and a pretty soft nose. Soft noses can be super fun in powder. Leaning back into the tail to wheelie up on a pow day or just butter is pretty easy thanks to that early rise before tail. The Elevated Surf Craft Megafish can pop well for flat to rocker but it was a big hard to ollie or get mellow air being soo far back on the tail.

Uneven Terrain

That big nose with early rise before it clown shoes a lot and I could feel it slapping the snow. What is cool though is how quickly this chatter quiets down by the time it gets to your feet. This will be great in powder but it isn’t perfect on groomers.

Speed

You have above average but not exceptional base glide. I’d love to see a super-fast base on this for easier glide in pow. I also feel like it would match the price point better. This isn’t a board to just point and go like the Nitro Quiver Cannon 173 but the Elevated Surf Craft Megafish can cruise at a faster speed than most.

Edge Hold

There isn’t as much effective edge as you would think because soo much of this board is the nose. There is still pretty competent edge hold though.

Turning Experience/Carving

So I wanted this in powder but got groomers instead. I didn’t have high expectations but I was pleasantly surprised. I had a really fun time turning this big boy and it is really fun for a flat to rocker ride. Aaron does great things with his flat to rocker/pow specific rides. The Elevated Surf Craft Megafish and Redtail Hawk both have flat to rocker profiles but both are super fun to turn.

Powder

So I didn’t get any powder but based on many similar shapes I rode like the Elevated Surf Craft Megafish, its -14.25” set back from center of board, swallow tail, and massive nose with tons of rocker before it, you can tell this is going to be unsinkable.

Conclusion

So if you need a board for a trip to somewhere massively deep or just want to be ready for those all time dumps at your local mountain this is a great choice. And you can even have fun riding this on groomers while you wait for that dump.
