Burton Rewind Table Video and Written Review Review by The Good Ride

Ethics Statement: We don’t get paid by the manufacturer to write these reviews.  We do make money from the “Where To Buy” links, but this is our best attempt at an honest and objective review from an average rider’s perspective.

How This Review Happened: We spent our Good Ride money to demo the Burton Rewind for a day.

Size: 146
Days:  1
Conditions:  Great snow, packed powder, groomer, a little hard snow but mostly good conditions.

Vans Ferra
Bindings: Union Milan

:  21”,  15 front -15 back

Approximate Weight: Feels normal but very sturdy.

On Snow Feel: The Burton Rewind feels semi-locked in on snow. It is a more aggressive board even though it has somewhat of a softer flex. When riding slowly, the board kind of wants to stick on its edge and feels a little slow to turn, but once you bring it up to speed it starts to loosen up and is more fun to ride.

Powder: It is a true twin with not much rocker in the nose and tail, it slowed down significantly when I dipped into the powder. The Rewind prefers to be on groomed terrain or harder snow.

Turn Initiation: Turning was slower at low speeds, but at higher speed it turned medium fast.

Carving: Did OK carving, not a whole lot of energy out of the turns but could hold an edge and line pretty well.

Speed: Bring on the speed. This board wants to ride faster and when it is at speed it feels the best and most playful. It has a nice stable feel under foot when riding fast, but is medium damp, you can still feel a lot of information from the snow.

Uneven Terrain: The Rewind prefers groomers but does ok off piste and in bumpy snow, but feels best on even terrain.

Edge Hold: Has a great connection to the snow and holds its edge very well. Would be good up to hard and semi-icy snow.

Flex: When flexing the board with your hand it seems pretty soft. But when the board is on your feet it stiffens up and feels more like a medium to stiff flex. I was able to butter a little bit, but you have to put some effort into it.

Switch: Rides great switch, is a true twin so feels the same as regular.

Jibbing: The Burton Rewind isn’t made for beginner jibbers, but can jib and locks in well. Not really friendly for learning new tricks, better if the rider has previous experience jibbing before jumping onto some rails.

Pipe: Couldn’t ride it in a pipe, but I think this board would feel at home in a half pipe.

Jumps: Feels super stable on jumps and spins, but not for learning or beginners. It isn’t very forgiving, so it would be better for and intermediate and up park rider. But has nice pop of lips and good stability for landings.

Overall: I felt like the Burton Rewind would be good for a high intermediate to advanced level rider who wants a twin board that likes to ride fast everywhere and has a freestyle personality. This board felt best at higher speeds and on bigger park features and I think it would be fun in the pipe.
