Burton Freestyle 2016 - 2010 Review by The Good Ride

This is a step down from the custom but still a good reliable binding.  If you plan on progressing quickly or just want more from a binding then we would suggest the Custom over this binding. The adjustability and flex are a little more than just a freestyle binding. Obviously, the ankle straps won’t be terribly comfortable like many of the higher end Burton Bindings but they will do a really good job for an entry level binding.   We feel this is one of the best beginner all mountain bindings out there but that isn’t saying much. The Burton Freestyle Re:Flex will get old if you get good at snowboarding but it will take longer with the Freestyle than it will with many other beginner bindings out there.

Not much changed from the 2016 Burton Freestyle Re:Flex to the 2015 Burton Freestyle binding.

The 2014 and 2015 Burton Freestyle Re:Flex binding has a huge improvement over past models.  It went Re:Flex making it one of the better entry level bindings out there. Re:Flex offers a lot more to the flex of the board you are riding underfoot and it also gives the heel pad a lot more shock absorption.  We still like the 2014 Burton Custom better but this will kick ass over renting.

For 2012 the Freestyle added a new high back that was passed down from the custom that gives it a little bump in quality.  The rest of the binding is very similar to the 2011 and 2010 models. The 2012 to is still the call over the 2011 just because it has the better high back. The 2013 is about the same style ride as the 2012 but with a little newer hand me down tech from the Custom.
