Nobodys Princess Zali Pant 2023 - 2022 Review by The Good Ride

How This Review Happened

We borrowed these pants for a try on review and returned them to the company.

Size: AU8/US4 Regular Length
Steph’s Specs:
Height: 5’3”
Waist: 27”
Hips: 35”
Inseam 29”
Upper Thigh 19” Circumference
Middle Thigh 18” Circumference

First Impressions: Really the first time I put on these pants, they felt great. They were very comfortable, had lots of freedom of movement, but also had a nice fit. I love all the little extra details and features and it seems like the whole construction of the pants were well thought out.

Nobody's Princess Zali Pant Features
Sizing Options, Short/Regular, 4-Way Stretch, 15K waterproofing, 15K breathability, Fully Featured

Waterproofing: 15k

Breathability: 15k

Insulation

60g on the top of the thigh, 40g on the back of the thigh.

The Zali pants could be good for someone that sees colder weather, or just runs colder. The added fleece lining makes them good for colder winter days as well.

Sizing And Fit

Sizing And Fit

The Zali pants have a regular fit. They aren’t super tight, but they aren’t really baggy either. The pants are a higher waisted pant, but if you want to wear them a bit lower on the hips they also look good. They come in specific pant sizes instead of just SM, MD, LG, and XLG, which I think is great. The smallest size is a AU8/US4 and they go all the way up to AU22/US18. They also come in regular and long inseam lengths. But on top of that, they have an added 4 way stretch cinching system that lets you micro adjust the waist depending on how you’d like them to fit.

4 Point Waist Cinching System

Waist Cinching System

The 4 way cinching system is great. As someone who always needs to cinch the waist of their pants smaller, this is the best version I’ve seen. Normally, when adjusting the waist on snow pants, I end up with a big lump of extra material somewhere. And it is usually inside the waist of the pants, so I can constantly feel it while riding. The system with the Zali pants pulls from 4 different areas of the waist. This creates less material to bunch up, makes an even pull around the while waistline, and is way more functional and comfortable than other systems I’ve tried. To add extra comfort, the panels are also covered with a fleece flap that lays over the cinch.

Front Closure System
Velcro, Snaps, Hooks

Front Closure And Snaps

The front closure has triple security from popping open while riding. It comes with velcro, snaps, and an extra hook. When Stacy tried out a low flex in the pants, the snaps did pop, but the hook closure and the velcro stayed in place. So the system does seem to work.

Side Stretch Panel

Side Stretch Panel

A big factor in how these pants move so well and fit so well in the waist and hips is the stretch panel. The 4 point cinching system pulls from the stretch panel when you adjust the waist. This helps keep the pants comfortable even when cinched down, but also allows for nice stretch if you flex down really low. The waist of the pants stay in place no matter what movements you make in the pants. The stretch panel is a great added feature to help with freedom of movement, custom sizing and also comfort.

Gusseted Crotch Panel

The Zali pants come with an enforced panel in the crotch helps to prevent splits when riding.

Pockets

Nobody’s Princess seems to have used all the strategic locations for pockets possible. There are 8 functioning pockets. None of those pockets are fake sewn up material (probably one of my biggest complaints with snow pants). All the pockets in the Zali pants are real! There’s two hip pockets, two back pockets, two smaller pockets on the outside of the mid thighs, and two lower pockets down near the top of the boots. All of them are thoughtfully placed, and won’t get in the way of movement, and won’t hit your knee or anywhere else uncomfortable while riding.

Zipper Detail

Zipper Detail

The iridescent zippers are great! They add a nice touch of extra detail and style to the pant and look really cool in the sunshine. I don’t know why, but this was probably one of my favorite features on the pants.

Two Mesh Vents on the back of the thighs

Vents

These pants come with two meshed vents in the back of the thighs. Stacy and I both liked the placement of the vents.

Stacy’s Take On The Nobody’s Princess Zali Snow Pants

Stacey’s Specs
Height 5’5”
Waist 34”
Hips 44”
Inseam 30”
Upper thigh 26”
Mid thigh 22”

I would be interested to size down since I lost weight from time I ordered but fit was very adjustable so the larger size still fit me ok.

I love the pocket placement. The zippers are hard to rate till you use them all season. I like the hook and snap combo closure on the pants.
The waist cinching system and stretch side panel system are probably one of the best features of the pants. Something I hope to see in the future is a shell version of this pant with a lighter lining than fleece for warm weather riding.

Overall

The Zali pants from Nobody’s Princess are full of functional features that make for a great fitting, versatile pant that should fit many different body types and shapes. They seem well thought out and have a lot of features that I haven’t seen in many other snow pants. Stacy and I both like the way they move and feel. The adjustably with the waist cinching system is great.  The amount of sizes and lengths they come in is non existent in the women’s snow pant world. All 8 functional pocket placements are well thought out. The Zali pants are at an affordable price point ( AUD $279 / USD $192) and are comparable in price to other pants with the same waterproofing/breathabilty rating.
