Jones High Sierra Pro Pant 2023 review
Jones High Sierra Pro Pant 2023 Review by The Good Ride
Swipe Right: Super breathable and packable. Reinforced in high use areas. Lightweight. Designed for uphill travel. Stretchy. Recycled materials and eco friendly practices.
Swipe Left: Not ideal if you’re exposed to a lot of moisture.
Summary: The Jones High Sierra Pro Pant is a super breathable, light weight pant designed with uphill travel in mind. The minimalist construction and tailored fit create a sleek pant that feels more like a pair of hiking pants then snowboard pants; which is something we like. Extra burly fabric on the seat and knees, along with some zippered leg vents, is what upgrades these pants from the High Sierra, to the High Sierra Pro.

How This Review Happened
We were fortunate enough to visit the Jones headquarters in Truckee California and film this review in their beautiful new studio.
Fit
Normal fit, not too tight, not baggy. Tailored in the legs.
Construction
The Jones high sierra pro pant consists of a four way stretch fabric, with extra durable fabric in the knees and seat. Very high quality seem welding and minimalist stitching.
Waterproofing/Breathability
The Jones high sierra pro pant is extremely breathable. 40k breathability in the bulk of the pant. The fabric in the knees and seat is 20k waterproofing and 20k breathability. We love this addition of the extra waterproofing in these high use areas because it allows these pants to function better as a warm weather resort pant.
Pockets
4 pockets. 2 large front zipper pockets and 2 large rear zipper pockets.
Gaitors/Cuffs
One simple elastic cuff on the ankles. Fits over boots perfectly tight. Easy to put on and remove from boot when needing to adjust laces or a boa.
Venting
2 large zippered side vents on the outside of the thighs. No inner crotch vents.
Buttons
2 extra sturdy buttons on the waist.
Liner
The Jones high sierra pro pant has a nice soft internal fabric on the stretchy material. Not quit as soft to the touch on the more durable material.
Conclusion
The Jones high sierra pro pant is one of the most breathable pants in the market. These are a perfect choice if you’re looking for a pair of touring pants and are planning on some high output, climbing intensive days. These pants are also a perfect choice if you are looking for a warmer weather, springtime resort pant. We like this pant better than the High Sierra because of the added durability.
