Burton Covert 2016 - 2015 Review by The Good Ride
The Burton Covert Pant is a well made low-cost solution for those that get a week or 2 in on the mountain per year or are on a budget. It’s also one of the last Burton pants that fit people with bigger thighs.

Turn On’s: Size M pants that fit well around my thighs, Riding with Friends, Open Roads, new gear and especially my wife.
Turn Off’s: M Pants that I can’t get up over my thighs, traffic and people who can’t park inside the lines.
Fit: They have gone really thin around the thigh area and it’s been tough for me to fit in almost any pair of Burton Pants. Some that fit me really well 2 years ago can’t even be pulled up over my thighs. These are the last of the independents so I bought them hoping they would fit. These pants are by no means baggy and they have more of a normal feel to them.
Construction: The Material feels thick and sturdy and their is mesh running from the knees all the way up to the waist. These are not the insulated Covert Pants but the insulated aren’t a bad choice for those that want warmth to match the Covert Jacket.
Insulation/Warmth: With some good 1st layering though you could be warm in winter and then not over heat in fall.
Waterproofing: The waterproofing is good enough to deal with wet snow but it’s not really going to handle rain or consistently wet weather.
Breathability: Breathability is sub par and we’d like to see it be more on track with the waterproofing but it
Overall: All in all this is is a really good low cost choice for pants.
