The Patagonia Rubicon Down Men’s Jacket is one of those super insulated jackets for those who ride in extremely cold conditions or just run really cold.

Weight: 195 lbs,
Upper Body-:44” Chest, Torso Length 23” (collarbone to pant button), Shoulder Width Approx 22”, Arm Length 19.5” (pit to wrist)
Lower Body: 33” Waist, 42” Hips, 30” Inseam,  24.5” Thigh
Turn On’s: Size L Jackets that fit well around my chest, size M pants that fit well around my thighs so I can get in and out of my pockets, open roads, Surfy Powder Turns, Riding with Friends, new gear and especially my super-hot super smart super funny wife.
Turn Off’s: Size L Jackets that don’t fit well around my chest, super tight Size M Pants that I can’t get up over my thighs, traffic and people who can’t park inside the lines.

Fit: Feels normal and well puffy. I didn’t feel like Ralph’s little brother in Christmas Story but I did feel puffy.

Construction: Patagonia has impeccable construction so expect this to last for years.

Hood: Even though this is an articulating hood it covers most of your face and it’s almost as good as a contoured hood. I felt like it had most or all of my face covered.

Insulation/Warmth: Super warm and not a jacket I would want to own as I run on the warm side.  A perfect jacket to own though for those that run cold and also ride in colder conditions.

Waterproofing: Hard to truly gauge this as it’s not really published but based on past experience with DWR only Jackets it’s not something that’s going to really be bombproof.  It’s more for dry snow and the occasional wet snow.

Breathability:  Not sure here either because it was so warm on me that I was sweating 5 minutes into wearing it. After 15 minutes I was really sweating and the jacket didn’t remove that moisture too quick.

Overall:  The Rubicon is not for everyone and if you want something slightly off the snowboarder’s path but also not 100% ski you have Patagonia.
