How This Review Happened

We were fortunate enough to visit the Jones headquarters in Truckee, California, and film this review in their beautiful new studio.

Fit

The Jones re-up-down hoody is a perfect layering fit. Mid-layers are meant to be snuggers so they can layer under the shell jacket. This puffy layers perfectly.

Construction

Made with 100% recycled 750-fill down and a water-resistant 100% recycled outer shell fabric. The seams are the same excellent quality as the rest of Jones’s outerwear line. The one complaint about this jacket it when it’s zipped all the way up the zipper can open back up and come down a few CM from where you want it. I think it’s the stretchy material around the hood that stretches it back open. The good news is it looks like the 2024 model fixed this issue.

Waterproofing/Breathability

The Jones re-up-down hoody is water resistant, not waterproof. This will hold up in dry snow but try to avoid any serious moisture. The down stuffing does a great job of regulating excess heat while retaining your core body temperature throughout the day.

Cuff/Glove Compatibility

Easily fits underneath a glove.

Backpack Compatibility

This puffer will fit perfectly under a backpack. No shoulder seams or anything that would cause discomfort.

Venting/Pit zips

None.

Pockets

Two large zippered waist pockets. One medium zippered chest pocket. I felt these worked well for what I needed.

Conclusion

This down jacket is the highest quality you can get from recycled materials. The 100% recycled 750-fill down and water-resistant 100% recycled outer shell fabric are well worth the price tag. Great layering piece that will take you from the summit to the pub in comfort and style. You can stuff this jacket into it’s chest pocket for ultimate packability.
