How This Review Happened

We were fortunate enough to visit the Jones headquarters in Truckee California and film this review in their beautiful new studio.

Fit

The Jones Mountain Surf Fleece is on the tighter side. Mid layers are meant to be a snugger fit so they can layer under the shell jacket. This is a perfect layering fit.

Construction

Two different materials. Recycled fleece throughout the body with a more burley material on the shoulder and forearms for some water and abrasion resistance.

Waterproofing/Breathability

It is fleece so it will be water resistant but not waterproof by any means. This is a medium thick fleece that seems like it will breath better than some heavier weight fleeces I’ve worn.

Cuff/Glove Compatibility

Easily fits underneath a glove.

Backpack Compatibility

This comes with a tailored fit. Smooth, durable shoulders allows the Jones Mountain Surf fleece to perform well with a backpack.

Venting/Pit zips

None.

Pockets

Two large zippered waist pockets on the Jones Mountain Surf fleece. There is two medium zippered chest pockets. One comes with a top entry and the other comes with a side entry.

Conclusion

The Jones Mountain Surf fleece is a great recycled mid layer. Has everything you look for in a high quality fleece. Great selection of zippered pockets allow this to act as an outer layer as well.
