2 Passage 24oz Bowls
2 Passage 12oz Cups (with lids)
1 2L Nonstick Pot
Cooking With The Set
The Frontier pot comes with a non-stick coating to keep food from sticking. I cooked a few things in this pot and it did really well with things like soup and pasta sauce. I did test it with cooking an egg, because I feel that is the ultimate test of a non-stick pan. Even though it is a pot and not a frying pan. It did pretty well. I was cooking with my jet boil and the hot spot in the middle definitely stuck a little bit. But overall I think the non-stick worked really well.
It boils water nicely and has plenty of capacity for 2 people. Especially if you are cooking 2 backpacking meals. It can hold 2 L of water easily. And the handle on the pot is plenty stable enough to pick it up when it is full of liquid.
I love the lid stay, it makes it very easy to keep the lid out of the way and clean if you are stirring food in the pot or serving some food up.
The handle stays pretty cool to the touch while cooking. It gets a little warm but I could still handle it with ease even after boiling water in it.
Cups
This Frontier Cook Set comes with 2 12oz cups. The cups are comfortable to hold and have a nice grip on the outside of the cup. Making it easy to hold.
The cups are also supposed to be comfortable to hold when they have hot liquid. I tested this with boiling water. And the cup provided enough insulation that I could handle it even with very hot liquid inside.
I really like the flexible lids that come with the set as well.
Bowls
The 2 24oz passage bowls that come with the set provide plenty of capacity for any type of meal you may be cooking while camping. They are somewhat shallow with a flat base. This makes them stable as well as provides a somewhat plate surface to eat on. So they would be good for soups but also more of a normal type meal without the need to pack a plate and a bow. They also come with extra grip on the sides and are easy to hold when they have hot soup inside as well.
The bowls and cups are made with EU food-grade, glass-reinforced polypropylene. This material is microwavable and dishwasher safe for all those camping with a microwave and dishwasher as well. haha But they are easy to clean up after use in any case.
Pan
The 2L Frontier Pot is made from hard-anodized aluminium alloy, and comes with a ceramic non-stick coating.
The pot has measurements on the side so you can measure out food or water while cooking.
The lid has a silicone grip that doubles as a lid keep. This grip is easily usable even when the contents inside the pot are very hot. It stays cool to the touch during cooking to make it easy to handle.
The Frontier Pot also comes with a removable locking handle. I really liked that this metal handle did not get too hot while cooking, and I could use my bare hands to move the pot around without issue.
The lid also comes with a pour spout and a pasta strainer. (Which works pretty well)
Packability
The whole set easily packs down and nests inside itself for simple packing. The removable handle reverses and locks in place to keep everything together.
Overall
This Sea To Summit Frontier Ultralight Pot Cook Set is a useful, compact, lightweight option for 2 people while backpacking or camping. Easy to use, plenty of capacity for 2 full meals, and cleans up nicely as well. All for just over 1lb of weight.
