R.E.D Hi-Fi MIPS Review And Buying Advice
R.E.D Hi-Fi MIPS 2013 Review by The Good Ride
The RED Hi-Fi MIPS Helmet is like the Hi-Fi but it has a little extra protection. Like a lot of companies, they don’t go into detail about what the extra protection does so here is a link from MIPS explaining it. Basically, it’s designed to protect from off-angle falls and it stands for Multi-Directional Impact Protection System. So of the 2 Hi-Fi helmets, this is by far the better one if you are going big or fall allot. Right now this is pretty unique to the industry so there aren’t many companies that use this tech. RED is one of the only snowboard specific companies that have it. So it’s not a perfect helmet but it’s a lot better than wearing a mainly ski focused POC helmet.
